For this Honkai: Star Rail Firefly shoot, I invested a lot of energy early on into refining the details. From the gradient peekaboo highlights on the wig to the dark brown shawl trimmed with gold edging, and the intricate metallic and pale blue chest ornament, every element was crafted to stay as true to the design as possible. Shooting day was overcast, meaning the lighting around the convention grounds wasn't glaring; instead, the soft natural light beautifully preserved the garment's texture and makeup nuances, rendering facial contours exceptionally clean.
To achieve a better visual result, I planned out several distinct poses. From a playful touch on the chin to a tender posture with hands clasped over the chest and head slightly tilted, combined with a backward glance leaning against a railing, I wanted to capture her contrasting charm—how, despite carrying a heavy fate, her heart retains a delicate tenderness and unwavering resilience. While preparing this cosplay and engaging in Roleplay, I kept pondering the official character lore. Clad in steel armor yet harboring gentle dreams, she refuses to submit to a predetermined script, striving fiercely for what she loves within a limited timeframe. This trait truly touched me. As an everyday player and performer, we may not experience such grand destinies, but we can pour our all into the things we cherish.
The photography process wasn't easy; to make the skirt drape more naturally, I had to repeatedly adjust the waist decorations and the position of the back ribbons. To give the gaze more expression, the violet contact lenses and custom pink-purple eye makeup required constant angle awareness under the overcast sky to capture that clear, translucent feel. Reviewing the raw photos afterward, I recalled the quote from the lore: the meaning of life isn't about its length, but how one journeys through it. Even a momentary spark of fire is enough to light up an entire sea of stars. These sentiments reflect not just my comprehension of the character, but also my attitude toward every shoot. I don't chase after quantity; instead, I care deeply about whether each published set truly communicates the character's inner core. A glimmer begins from a firefly, and I hope this burning passion reaches everyone who views these images.
