The CICF event photos of Yinlin from Day 1 are finally organized! This concept of freezing poses with Suspended props actually took a lot of thought in action design. This photo set mainly showcases the classic costume setting of Yinlin from Wuthering Waves, with black and gray as the dominant tones, accented by red lining trims, golden metallic clasps, and a teal cord knot across the chest as a contrasting pop of color. The overall high-slit mini skirt design and off-the-shoulder cut retain the sleek agility of a combat uniform while reinforcing the character's unique elegance and mystery. To match this narrative-rich look, the makeup emphasized her two iconic beauty marks beneath the eyes, paired with light blue contact lenses, striving to recreate her aloof yet alluring gaze.
Next, let's talk about the shooting details. The hairstyle features vibrant, straight red hair with an asymmetrical long-and-short design. The voluminous crown is secured with a black headdress and hair accessories bearing golden lightning motifs, giving the hair ends a dynamic flow when captured during studio shooting. The textural combination of the costume is intriguing: a high collar seamlessly spliced with a metallic neck guard, while black leather gloves on the shoulders feature red-and-black finger guards along with metallic chains and straps, creating rich depth when wound around the arms. The leather corset around the waist is equally stylish, paired with gold D-rings to cinch the waistline tightly.
In this shoot, I attempted to recreate the sensation of "manipulating strings." For the Suspended props, I used fine threads with a purple-pink sheen, hooked and pulled with my fingers to form various geometric intersections in the air. Performing this required subtle dexterity—the threads easily tangled or pulled too taut unnaturally, so we had to reset the lines' flow before each take. Fortunately, the on-site photographer was fantastic, syncing with my movements to capture the moment the threads extended smoothly mid-air. Enhanced by highlights from the studio softboxes, the translucent threads gained a pristine optical-fiber-like texture, adding plenty of sci-fi and anime visual tension to the frame.
As for the location layout, the CICF exhibition hall offered many professional shooting areas. We chose a relatively quiet indoor booth area with dark gray concrete flooring, equipped with soft lights and reflectors that insulated us well from the bustle of the main hall. The round white plush rug I sat on provided great color contrast against the rigid floor; whether sitting sideways or kneeling frontally, it cleanly defined the silhouette, preventing the black-and-red costume from blending into the dark floor. In particular, during the single-knee half-kneeling pose, pointing the tips of the high heels with weight shifted backward showcased the leg lines and the dress's high-slit details wonderfully.
Looking at the overall presentation, our preparation was quite thorough. The wig fitted snugly without exposing the wig cap, and the red hair color didn't look dull under bright lights. The costume's tailoring slightly restricted movement—especially when opening both arms, creating tension around the shoulders—but for static posing, it perfectly presented a sharp combat stance. I also shot seated poses with crossed legs, resting one arm on the knee while holding the strings in the other, paired with glossy patent leather high heels; the overall vibe felt like a villain fine-tuning plans or an executive of a secret society, possessing that aura of commanding the entire situation at any moment.
The atmosphere at CICF was inherently fantastic. While Convention photography might not be as natural as outdoor Japanese-style shoots, the studio booth's strength lies in precisely controlling light and shadow, allowing fabric textures and metallic sheen to show completely. The theme of "Curtain Call with Suspended props" subtly hints at the character's core lore in the game—manipulating mechanisms, bound by destiny, and strategizing in secret. In short, it was a very smooth shoot. The makeup and photography team on-site were exceptionally professional, helping me manage skirt creases and tangled threads so I could focus entirely on posing. I hope this truly unleashes Yinlin cosplay's dangerously alluring beauty.
