Shooting this gym uniform outfit look for Shiroko Sunaookami tested my stamina and facial expression control more than expected. First, starting with accessories: the silver-gray wig has fairly neat edges, so I needed to comb out the hair ends repeatedly before heading out to avoid frizz. The animal ear accessories attached very securely on top; to avoid ruining the hair's silhouette, clip positioning needed to be precise. The halo atop my head was made from very lightweight material, but cast specific shadows under lighting, adding a 2D quality beyond real-life campus vibes to the final shot.

The outfit is a gym uniform featuring a white base with cyan-green trim on collar and cuffs, paired with dark athletic shorts. The most crucial detail lies in the white over-the-knee socks. This bottom outfit styling heavily tests posing—standing up to shoot easily makes posture look too stiff, so the sitting close-up in the second photo was a shot we emphasized. Sitting sideways on the bench by the care station, one hand gently supporting the volleyball with palm slightly raised, my entire back and arm lines exhibited a natural relaxed feeling that highlighted strengths while hiding weaknesses, fitting the lazy daily routine of a Volleyball Girl perfectly.

The posture of holding the volleyball actually required repeated attempts. It looks like casually resting against the side of my waist, but I had to control the force and direction of my fingers without gripping the volleyball too tightly, otherwise it would appear rigid. The first drinking perspective was captured during a break—everyone might think this shot has the most motion, but when I look at it myself, I feel it emphasizes light and shadow atmosphere more. Side backlighting outlined high-key edges on the silver hair while my eyes looked toward the water bottle spout, capturing a realistic feel unique to behind-the-scenes snippets.

The shooting environment was a storage room full of daily atmosphere—gray metal cabinets, blinds, and paper digit signboards on the wall all enriched the scene's campus ambiance. In fact, before every cosplay shoot, I contemplate how to place the character into a story-driven space. Fiddling with these props makes me feel I'm no longer just posing, but performing a lighthearted mini theater.

Although this sitting pose photo doesn't feature exaggerated actions, I personally feel its composition is the most solid and the lighting is just right. A black adjustable desk lamp nearby, a wooden table, and hand-drawn doodles on the whiteboard give the entire image warmth and breathing room. That's why I chose it as one of the cover photos for these behind-the-scenes cuts.

Interactions among aperture, focal length, and props had considerable limitations when doing pick-up shots indoors near dusk. Fortunately, after several rounds of attempts, we left behind a satisfying set of final shots. Capturing great cosplayer photos relies not only on good makeup and styling, but also on perfect synergy between personal state and environment. Every time I pick up a prop like a volleyball, it feels like more than a flat print piece—it feels like extending the character's existence into another daily dimension.

Picking every detail carefully ensures the whole look isn't just a bought pair of regular sportswear, but genuinely restores the original design soul of the character.

During post-processing selection, I also tried to retain that natural, clear transparency without excessive retouching or applying dramatic color grading filters.
