[Takanashi Hoshino Cosplay] Summer's Refreshing 'Uncle': Firefly ACG Expo Photoset

This time at Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed Takanashi Hoshino from Blue Archive, often affectionately known as 'Swimsuit Hoshino.' To match the summer convention atmosphere, I picked a refreshing, casual daily look: a bright cyan zip-up jacket paired with a white athleisure inner top, iconic pink short hair, and her signature halo overhead—bringing out a relaxed, easygoing, and slightly lazy summer vibe.

The shooting location was a green plaza outside the convention hall. Dark grey stone tiles on the ground paired seamlessly with red and white pillars and lush green bushes in the background. Compared to complex studio shoots, Cosplay photography under natural ambient light feels more rooted in everyday life, perfectly highlighting her calm composure. I brought along the blue, white, and yellow swim ring prop, which not only fits the summer theme but also captures a core element from her official art. Sitting poses created a chill mood, while standing poses cleanly displayed the outfit's overall silhouette, white shorts, and platform sandals in a bright, clean color scheme.

Let's talk about makeup and hair details. Light blue contacts were the finishing touch, faithfully restoring Takanashi Hoshino's eye color. The pink wig was carefully styled and trimmed; the frontal bangs and low pigtails on both sides were kept soft and airy to avoid the heavy look typical of 2D wigs. For skin texture, a seamless base was applied alongside a gentle lip tint to give her a vibrant look. During shooting, navigating heavy foot traffic and fluctuating outdoor lighting at the convention was a real test. I also want to emphasize how comfortable this Summer outfit was! Summer conventions demand high endurance, so a lightweight sporty outfit with flat sandals allowed me to stay comfortable while shooting and interacting effortlessly with fellow fans. Balancing character accuracy with real-world practicality makes for an awesome cosplay experience.

While many cosplayers invest heavily in heavy post-processing, we preferred preserving the natural, crisp feel of the original shots. Adjusting saturation slightly balanced the cyan jacket, pink hair, and white top without overly saturated tones, creating a sweet summer visual treat. Delivering natural yet refined aesthetics without relying on heavy filters is often the true test.

Ultimately, bringing Takanashi Hoshino to life under the bright sun and capturing these moments through the lens made me immensely happy.
