[Theresa Cosplay] Arknights: A Quiet Day of Pure White and Red Horns

The core of this white dress photoshoot for Theresa from Arknights lies in interpreting the atmosphere of "Daytime".

Instead of common low-saturation or dark-tone treatments, I opted for a High-key photography style with a pure white background and soft, diffused light. The goal was to let the character's white dress blend with her pale hair, creating a floating sense that sits right between reality and illusion.

In terms of makeup, I focused on emphasizing reddish-brown eyeshadow and deep gaze to break the monotony of the overall color tone. The two decorative Animal horn styling prop pieces feature a matte texture, gradient-shifting from a dark gray base to a vibrant crimson tip, akin to a restrained yet outward manifestation of inner strength. For hair styling, I intentionally kept the blunt bangs on the forehead paired with smooth long hair. Although white wigs can easily go wrong, good styling spray still helps the hair maintain a natural drape.

Regarding outfit selection, this pure white ruffle dress was chosen with exquisite care. It isn't a stiff, structured cut, but rather uses soft, slightly breathable fabric with cascading layers of pleats and delicate lace edges at the neckline, keeping the outfit from looking like a flat white cloth. The neckline opens just right to reveal the collarbone line. To balance out this large area of white, I wore black leather gloves. The matte texture of the black gloves creates a striking visual collision with the soft sheen of the white dress, giving the camera shot distinct layers.

For props, I specifically chose fully bloomed pure white lilies. Not only to match the white theme, but also because lilies symbolize purity in the language of flowers. Complemented by green leaf accents, they effectively neutralize the monotony of extensive white. Holding this bouquet during shooting was actually quite heavy, but to maintain elegant hand gestures, I had to stabilize my core; raising my left hand slightly was actually designed to make the glove's wrinkles look as natural as possible.

As for the theme "Daytime", it's not merely an arrangement of scene lighting, but a projection of the character's inner state. Though drifting aimlessly in a dream of emptiness, the clear light and shadow at this moment freeze her stance in time. The photographer used a large aperture paired with even lighting, softening facial contours with almost no double shadows. This portrait-like texture aligns closely with the serene impression Theresa conveys in the world of Arknights.

In post-processing, I kept retouching minimal, primarily unifying skin tone and outfit texture to preserve the purity of white, while fine-tuning localized colors to prevent color shifts. I hope this clean, nearly pure visual presentation conveys the image in my heart. Throughout the preparation for the shoot, hair, makeup, and costumes, I repeatedly studied character design details to faithfully capture her essence, which is the most fundamental respect a cosplayer can offer to a character and work.

Successfully completing this photo set with the team owes much to the meticulous work of the hair/makeup stylist and photographer. Although we had to keep the white dress clean and the horn props secure throughout shooting, the final result makes every effort worthwhile.
