Today's look features Kurumi in a Maid outfit, blending classic black-and-white palettes with cat ear elements. In terms of wardrobe details, the white short-sleeved top features ruched gathers, cinched by a black corset waist and layered beneath a white ruffled apron. The red ribbon and golden bell at the collar are delightfully eye-catching, complemented by wrist cuffs with black stripes and golden buttons to evoke a vintage, sweet aesthetic overall. On my legs, I styled black over-the-knee socks (Black stockings) and black chunky-heeled Mary Janes, pairing with long straight black twintails, blunt bangs, and reddish-orange contact lenses. The makeup accentuated deep eye contours, aligning effortlessly with the character's presence.
For this shoot, I brought along an identical Kurumi Prize figure. Often these prize figures simply sit at home as display shelf decorations, but bringing them into the camera frame to actively participate in the shoot turned out surprisingly charming. For example, in one frame I rested the figure gently in the palm of one hand, while in another I sat on the carpet with the figure placed right beside me—feeling like a miniature avatar of the character that enriched narrative depth.
The location was chosen in a sweet shop dominated by white and pastel pink tones, complete with white arched doors and display cases filled with realistic faux pastries in the background. This luminous, sugary setting provided an exquisite visual contrast against the Maid outfit, rendering clean, comfortable colors. To elevate interactivity, I brought real donuts as props to pose with before the lens, making the overall frames look even more lively.
In terms of pose design, I explored cradling the figure, holding donuts, lifting the skirt hem, sitting across chairs, and raising a single leg. To make the photos visually compelling, the photographer explored diverse angles—such as high-angle shots to flatter skirt flares and upper torso contours, or eye-level perspectives to accentuate facial expressions and body language. Every shutter click demanded micro-adjustments to bodily angles and expressions, striving to preserve an effortless state.
As a cosplayer, preparing this coordinate and curating the shoot required immense dedication. From wig styling and contact lens selection to steam-ironing garments and positioning accessories, every step aimed to honor the character's core essence. While the shooting process was demanding with constant posture adjustments, having the set, props, and wardrobe perfectly aligned made the final selects look organic and refined. Blending 2D elements into real-world spaces while utilizing a Prize figure to add storytelling charm made this a truly enjoyable and rewarding Anime-style photography experience.
