The preparation for this costume, makeup, and props was actually put on the schedule very early. From the moment I decided to do this character, I was pondering how to make myself look both agile like a Magical Girl and fit the energetic vibe during battle in front of the lens. The moment I slipped into this pink combat outfit, I felt my state gradually falling into place.

Let's first talk about the preparation of the hairstyle and makeup. This long golden hair is the core of the styling, and the twin-tails need to be fixed at the right angle in coordination with the wing-shaped hair accessories on both sides of the head. To maintain the fluffiness of the hair strands, I added hair extensions at the roots. For makeup, I opted for a clean, translucent base, but heavily emphasized the red pupils and eye makeup to make my gaze look a bit sharper. After completing these basic preparations, my aura during the shoot really leveled up a lot.

There are quite a few details in the outfit matching. The fabric of this pink sleeveless puff dress is relatively light, and the underskirt has excellent layering. The ring of deep wine-red zigzag trim along the edge of the hem is the highlight of the entire lower body, preventing the skirt from looking monotonous. The white long gloves on my arms reach right up to the upper arms, tightening the forearm lines and adding a crisp feel. The focus is still on the legs: pink over-the-knee socks paired with white high heels, plus the dark zigzag edge at the top of the socks. While balancing a sense of cuteness, the whole look also visually elongates the legs beautifully. This color scheme is extremely bright in front of the camera, perfectly fitting the established visual style of anime characters.

The prop for this shoot is this pink magic staff. Its top features a petal-shaped ring design with metallic accents in the center, and the handle area has a pink gradient finish. When I first held it up to strike a standing pose, I was always worried that the light effects wouldn't align, but after a few sets of practice, it was easy to find the leverage point for holding the staff. The motions selected for the photos—ranging from standing and waving the staff to sitting on a folding ladder and looking down at the lens—are, in my opinion, highly consistent with the original setting. For this set of photos, the shooting scene was set up inside the convention hall. There were many other tourists and photography equipment in the background, but through post-processing blur, the cluttered venue was transformed into an environment with a unique texture and atmosphere.

Regarding the direction of post-processing, rather than over-editing, I lean toward enhancing the magical atmosphere through light, shadow, and special effects. This time, we added many fine sparks and glowing particles, which, combined with the highlights of the staff itself, indeed created the exact light-and-shadow feel needed for "forever burning wings." When processing the skin tone in post, I retained a more realistic texture to make it fit the actual lighting rather than intentionally over-whitening it, so that the image wouldn't look artificial under the mixed natural and artificial lighting of an anime convention. The overall tone of the post-processing leans slightly toward a cool-toned gray-white, aiming to make the pink outfit and golden hair pop out more.

From preparing this look to the actual shoot and editing, the entire process has been a deepening of my understanding of the character through this Anime-style photography. This kind of character full of bright colors and youthfulness heavily tests one's expressive tension in front of the lens. Whether crouching on the ground or standing to strike a pose, I hope to convey that conviction of "charging forward in both love and battle" to everyone looking at the photos. Looking at the final color-graded photos, I truly found a sense that "the 2D world is the magic of reality." Although this outfit has many accessories and is somewhat tedious to wear—especially those symmetrical fixed ornaments and long socks, which take a lot of time to put on and take off every time—as long as I see the final effect frozen in the photos, I feel all the early preparations and hard work during the shoot were completely worth it. This is probably the greatest meaning of choosing to do cosplay for a character: transforming the settings from that virtual world into a realistic, visible frame in front of the lens.
