This time, I cosplayed Ichinose Asuna from Blue Archive. While preparing this outfit, I dedicated substantial effort to examining every detail. From the silhouette of the pale yellow shirt to the blue ribbon at the collar and the pleat width of the dark blue pleated skirt, I aimed to stay as faithful as possible to the original character design. For the wig, I picked a vibrant, pure golden blonde, spending considerable time smoothing it out and pairing it with the sci-fi-inspired blue halo accessory overhead.
The weather on shoot day was fantastic; against a backdrop of Blue sky and white clouds, the crisp, clear light put everyone in high spirits. However, because the sun was so intense, outdoor shooting posed quite a challenge. To avoid overexposure or harsh shadows across my face, the photographer and I constantly adjusted our positions and reflector angles. Facing intense sunlight easily brings tears to the eyes, so to sustain the character's easygoing, self-assured expression, I concentrated on controlling my facial muscles to ensure every frame captured the exact mood.
The pose of kneeling on one knee with hands clasped behind my head required serious core balance. To keep the skirt from looking stiff on camera, I had to twist my torso slightly so the pleated hem fanned out naturally into an elegant arc, all while keeping my upper body straight and poised. The pose demanded constant fine-tuning, and kneeling directly on the hard brick pavement was quite uncomfortable, but seeing that ideal visual tension materialize on screen made every second worth it.
Wardrobe-wise, pairing black Over-the-knee socks with black shoes and the short pleated skirt visually lengthened the leg lines and harmonized naturally with the overall school uniform aesthetic. In between takes, I kept checking the layers of the wig, ensuring that as gentle breezes swept past, the strands fluttered naturally without clumping into stiff sections.
As a cosplayer, every moment facing the camera represents a renewed dialogue with the character. Faithfulness is never just about slipping into a costume and putting on a wig; it's about channeling the character's presence within that specific setting. From costume tailoring and makeup details to refining every posture, each photo set reflects the collective dedication of the entire team. I am genuinely happy with the final visual presentation of this set, and I hope it brings a fresh spark of visual joy to everyone who loves Blue Archive and Asuna.
