This time, I'm bringing an official Momoka Hanyuu cosplay photoshoot from Arknights. The layering of this outfit is exceptionally rich, and the overall color palette leans toward vintage warm tones. Therefore, during pre-shoot discussions with the photographer, we settled on a minimalist pure-white studio backdrop to best accentuate the character and the vibrant colors of the garments. The Pink wig was the absolute focus of styling: to recreate that fluffy, airy pink bob, I spent considerable time setting and taming the volume. The oversized brown bow on top was also specially reinforced and shaped so that it would maintain a crisp three-dimensional silhouette from every camera angle. For makeup, I opted for red-toned contact lenses, while blending eyeshadow and blush in peachy-pink shades, paired with glossy, dewy lips to capture that dreamy, ethereal 2D aesthetic in Anime-style photography.
The wardrobe is packed with intricate details. The base layer is a red-and-black plaid vest; the oversized crimson bow at the chest creates a striking visual contrast against the crisp white stand-up collar and slender black tie. Draped over it is a long brick-red pinstriped blazer—its oversized tailoring and half-slung styling beautifully soften the formality of the plaid, adding a relaxed, nonchalant flair. The golden metallic chain at the waist serves as a defining accent, not only flattering body proportions but also infusing a touch of lavish elegance. For the lower half, a black ruffled miniskirt keeps the ensemble buoyant and light. What I'm particularly excited to highlight is the combination of White lace socks and glossy black Mary Jane shoes: the block heel design provided superb stability during posing, while the White lace socks softened leg contours under the lights, harmonizing with a heart-shaped crossbody bag to inject a sweet, cheeky demeanor into the look.
The entire shoot went remarkably smoothly. For props, we prepared a dainty cupcake; holding it not only solved the awkwardness of not knowing where to place my hands, but also added an authentic touch of everyday warmth to the composition. Sitting on the white bar stool, I tested various postures—crossing my legs, leaning slightly forward, or gently tugging at the collar bow to introduce dynamic liveliness into the shot. Different poses naturally evoke distinct emotional narratives. Photographer C-kun was seasoned with lighting: using reflector fill against the pure-white backdrop kept my facial contours delicately soft, while smooth light-to-shadow gradients showcased the diverse fabrics and textures to perfection. This set is a backlogged favorite, and looking back now, I still adore the precise mastery of color and light. Portraying this look allowed me to immerse myself in that sweet-yet-edgy charm of the styling, and I hope it offers styling inspiration to anyone who loves this Momoka Hanyuu cosplay from Arknights!
