[Amau Ako cosplay] Blue Archive Disciplinary Committee Member's convention photos record

Today I shot a set of Blue Archive Amau Ako cosplay photos at the convention site. This outfit has many more details than imagined. The dark blue uniform jacket paired with a white inner top, along with the gold square tag, brings a pretty good overall accuracy. To match Ako's setting, I wore a silver-gray wig and blue contact lenses, and the red and blue decorations on the headpiece were specially fixed. Wearing that red "Feng" (Disciplinary) armband on the left hand is a highlight of the entire outfit.
The photography is by Qiufeng Fynne Photo, shot in a temporary studio at the convention. The environment on-site was relatively noisy with mixed lighting, but the photographer is great at finding angles. The first picture has me sitting on a black folding ladder with legs crossed, holding the prop gun with my right hand; this pose showcases the leg lines very well. Black long stockings paired with dark glossy lace-up leather shoes unify the visual look, which also matches the character's original design. The second picture changed to a white circular rug on the ground, with legs extended forward and the gun placed alongside the leg; the composition of this one is slightly more relaxed.
Regarding the prop gun, it's actually a very lightweight plastic model. To look natural in front of the lens, the posture of holding the gun was adjusted many times. The waistband and metal buckles of the costume are very easy to get stuck when sitting down, requiring position adjustments from time to time. There were many onlookers on-site, and combined with the constant flashing of camera strobes, my eyes felt a bit dry, but the final output results are indeed very good.
In the convention's photography area, many photographers and cosers frequently walk back and forth, so finding a clean background is not easy. The background in the first picture is heavily blurred, which is to concentrate the visual center entirely on the upper body and legs of the character. The hem of the uniform is relatively short, so special attention must be paid to prevent accidental exposure when sitting down, making the arrangement of the skirt hem a minor focus between shots. The "Feng" character on the armband has a red fabric background, and the white font is extremely eye-catching; although the font is very small, it remains clearly visible under a telephoto lens.
The stripes on the arms are light blue, matching the color of the neckline, and this color echo prevents the overall dark-colored clothes from looking too dull. Although the gold buttons are just decorations, they increase the texture of the costume. As for the choice of shoes, dark brown and black glossy leather shoes are quite close in style, and black was ultimately chosen, making the connection with the long stockings look more natural. When shooting the second picture, sitting on the white rug, this light-colored ground forms a strong contrast with the dark clothing, making the frame look very clean. With no complex background elements, the character's actions become the core of the frame. Hands crossed and placed between the legs, holding the prop gun, this is a relatively quiet posture.
Every time I do a cosplay, I spend a lot of thought on makeup and hair, especially wig trimming and styling, to ensure it doesn't get messy under the high-intensity movement at the convention. The material of this outfit is actually a bit thick, and walking around the convention will cause sweating, but for the sake of the photo effects, I persevered. This time, instead of choosing a large scene, studio light and shadow were utilized to highlight the character's own temperament. The material of the black stockings has a certain reflectivity under light, and the photographer specially adjusted the lighting angle to avoid overexposure.
The blue details of the prop gun echo the light blue stripes on the clothes, and these small details are all noticed during shooting. Convention shooting often requires quickly adjusting one's state because crowds and lighting are constantly changing. The makeup of the day maintained a relatively clear and translucent feel, and the blue contact lenses were very bright under the strobe light, which is also one of the character's original traits. Every time a set of photos is finished, I check whether the wig's net is exposed and whether the badges on the clothes are crooked; although these details can be fixed in post-processing, doing them well in advance saves a lot of time. The focus of this cosplay lies in the tailoring of the uniform, the matching of accessories, and the visual extension brought by the black stockings. The top of the long stockings is partially covered by the short skirt, making the leg lines more coherent when sitting down.
The entire shooting process lasted about half an hour, changing locations twice. The first position was the ladder, and the second position was the rug. The posture on the ladder is more tense, while the posture on the rug is slightly more restrained. This time, different sitting postures were tried to express sides of the character under different states. Although the prop gun is not a real gun, the sense of weight in the hand still needs to be compensated for by posture. Overall, this Amau Ako cosplay put a lot of effort into costume and prop accuracy, and the pairing of black stockings and high heels also gives the overall styling more layering. After shooting this set of photos, I feel a more intuitive experience of the identity of a Disciplinary Committee Member. Both the sitting posture and the gun-holding action require maintaining a specific aura, not being too casual. I hope this set of photos can present the character's original calm yet somewhat detached feeling.
