Today I'm bringing you convention photos of Firefly. For this look, I chose a sailor suit version. The wig features a white base with a soft teal gradient, and the headband and feather-shaped hair accessories on top were reinforced so they wouldn't easily come loose while walking around the venue. To match the character, I chose purple-blue circle lenses paired with pink blush and a natural lip tint, aiming to keep the overall makeup clean and gentle. The sailor suit top features grey collar stripes, a light plaid ribbon tie accented by a golden brooch pin, and crisp pleats on the plaid skirt, leaning into a realistic everyday uniform texture.

The bouquet in my hands was specially coordinated, combining light blue hydrangeas, pink roses, and eucalyptus leaves, wrapped in craft paper and tied with a white satin ribbon. The first photo is a standing shot, gently looking down at the flowers; the lighting was quite even then, capturing a serene side profile. The second photo was taken sitting on the ground—since the convention carpet made it easy to sit down, I naturally struck a pose resting one hand against my cheek while cradling the bouquet with the other. A seated posture better showcases the pairing of white stockings with glossy black Mary Jane shoes; the cat paw prints on the tights were also a deliberate choice to add a bit of cuteness.

The shooting process was actually a bit tougher than anticipated. Even though the wig was pre-styled, long hours of wear and moving through crowds meant constant touch-ups. The sailor suit's fabric is fairly crisp, so while sitting, I had to pay close attention to smoothing out skirt pleats and keeping the plaid aligned. I truly love the quiet vibe in the first photo—Firefly inherently carries a subtle hint of melancholy and gentleness, so for pose design, I preferred subtle, understated motions, downward gazes, or quiet eye contact with the camera, rather than breaking the mood with exaggerated poses. Despite the noisy convention floor, I focused on finding good angles and immersing myself in character.

From preparing the costume to coordinating props on-site and repeatedly refining makeup details, everything was done in hopes of presenting a satisfying result at the convention. While shooting seated, I was slightly worried my shoes might slide, but luckily the glossy patent leather stayed steady, and the color contrast between the white stockings and plaid skirt came out crisp and distinct in the photos. The palette mainly centers on white, grey, blue, and pink without distracting background clutter, while the bouquet in the foreground adds depth. Overall, this set of convention photos achieved my intended vision, and I'm very grateful to the friend who helped take them that day.
