Today, I'm sharing the shooting process and styling details of this Zhen Hai shoot. Zhen Hai's character design naturally carries a poised, elegant, and enigmatic aura; to recreate that sense of strategic mastermind, I put extensive effort into the costume and hair/makeup styling.

First, let's talk about the outfit. The main piece is a form-fitting black mini dress featuring a mandarin stand collar, accented with gold piping and frog closures for a rich oriental charm. The chest cutout and tailoring along both sides of the waist introduce visual breathing room, keeping the all-black silhouette from feeling stifling. The gold metallic ornament sitting squarely at the front of the waist is exceptionally crafted, brightening the dark palette substantially. For sleeves, I went with sheer, detached long sleeves, which not only allowed free movement but also added a floating, ethereal touch. White floral and crystal hair accessories, paired with a long straight black wig with blunt bangs, fully maxed out the anime onee-san presence. To complete the overall look, I wore semi-sheer Black stockings paired with high heels, which elongated the leg silhouette beautifully.

For makeup, the focus was centered on the red eyes; a soft wash of red under the lower eyelids added a bewitching touch to the character. The base makeup was kept fair and pristine, evoking a cool, aloof glamour. During the shoot, to achieve a cleaner visual impact, we opted for a minimalist seamless pure-white backdrop. Sitting atop a white cylindrical prop with legs crossed, I let my body curves flow naturally. The plush, furry tail prop was the finishing touch; while somewhat tricky to keep in position during shooting, it looked phenomenal in the final photos.

Often, a great cosplay project goes beyond just wearing the costume; it requires complete harmony across makeup, accessories, postures, and expressions. While posing, I constantly reminded myself to maintain a cool detachment, keeping narrative depth in my gaze. Although stepping on the seamless paper in stockings was rather slippery, I pushed through for the sake of the shots. The studio lights were dialed up bright to highlight the black-and-gold contrast and the tactile richness of the fabric, giving me a fresh mastery over this Yujie style outfit.

From tailoring the silhouette to coordinating the intricate accessories, every step demanded patience. For example, the waist cutout placements had to contour the body snugly without looking awkward, requiring repeated fittings and micro-adjustments to reach peak form. Throughout the shoot, the photographer continuously guided my emotional state, helping me find the exact gaze and micro-expressions true to the character.
