It has been about half a month from starting this Honkai: Star Rail Tingyun cosplay in her Fugue form to finally getting this set of photos. The key challenge of this costume was combining the texture of the red-and-white strapless dress with the long black fur shawl, while ensuring the animal ears remained securely anchored. To capture that alluring yet dangerous charm unique to the Foxian, I experimented with various poses and ultimately chose a mirror selfie with one leg stepping high on a black stool as the main visual.
This photo set features flesh-toned stockings paired with black stiletto heels. Because maintaining balance on the stool was essential, the instep had to be held taut and extended, or the leg line would appear very stiff. The shooting environment utilized warm pink lighting, which accentuated the tones of the red dress beautifully. Post-processing involved minimal liquifying, focusing primarily on preserving the natural drape of the garment and the original lighting. This form-fitting fabric delivers great visual impact from the right angles without needing exaggerated photo editing.
Including the Jiaduobao meme was actually a complete coincidence. I was exhausted after wrapping up that day and grabbed a red canned drink to rehydrate. The photographer pointed out how perfectly the red can matched the character's red-and-black color palette, so we deliberately incorporated the Jiaduobao meme into the finished shots as a fun, lighthearted easter egg. Since it was a face-concealing mirror selfie, everything relied on body language to communicate the mood: body contours, the subtle tension of the gaze, and the sway of the hair all required careful personal control. Paying attention to the necklace styling and the placement of the wrist bells added that extra layer of character fidelity.
The faux fur on this shawl is very dense and heavy; shooting outdoors in summer could be sweltering and potentially hurt the yield of good shots. Overall, I am quite pleased with this look and the shoot's outcome. I hope everyone feels the allure of this character through these photos, along with the dedication poured into bringing her to life.
