[Tingyun Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail — Warm Tea Moments with Fugue

Holding a small white porcelain teacup as warm yellow light cascades from behind, delicate shadows dance across the golden embroidery on my sleeves. This outfit for Tingyun (Fugue) finally has the opportunity to showcase its true texture before the camera. From selecting the costume to execution day, there were many hesitations and choices along the way, but seeing the final shots align so closely with her character image is deeply gratifying.

Regarding makeup design, I spent extra effort on the eye makeup. Green contact lenses were key to recreating her aura, reflecting a temperament both tender and slightly aloof under warm lighting. I chose a matte base paired with red lip tint to elevate my complexion, ensuring facial contours remained defined under bright studio lights. Avoiding a dull complexion on camera was paramount, so my makeup artist and I repeatedly tweaked shading and highlight transitions, ultimately striking a perfect balance between everyday wearable and ethereal charm.

The garment's layering was far more intricate than expected. Deep dark base layers paired with a voluminous red-black-and-gold color-blocked outer robe, along with structured collar tailoring, emphasized its distinct aesthetic. The massive golden 3D flower ornament on the shoulder served as the visual focal point. Its rigid texture required firm anchoring to avoid tilting during movement, yet this reflective metallic sheen created a striking contrast with the soft fabric. White floral brocade patterns along sleeve cuffs and hems yielded rich light-and-shadow variations, adding immense detail for visual enjoyment.

Prop choices were another key focus of this photoshoot. Small white porcelain teacups clustered with artificial flowers on a low table, surrounded by staggered round gold ornaments, created a classical yet fantasy-tinged tea break setting. While posing, I paid close attention to torso angles to showcase the robe's flowing silhouette without letting the fluffy white animal tail look overly bulky. Half-squatting and sitting poses heavily tested core stability—layered garments plus tail weight constantly threatened my balance. Yet this meticulous posture adjustment process was precisely what unlocked her relaxed, leisurely aura in a state of ease.

Choosing warm ambient lighting embedded my personal interpretation of the \"Fugue\" persona. She radiates more than surface ornamentation—she embodies an unflappable poise that retains ease even amidst complex situations. Instead of harsh spotlights, we used diffused warm light sources to soften shadows throughout the frame. The background calligraphy screens and translucent gold disks blurred beautifully into depth, complementing the subject without distracting from her presence.

Looking back, from combing the wig and putting on complex accessories to adjusting lights and camera angles on set, the process was physically demanding. Yet seeing the frame gradually evolve into my vision in the viewfinder generated an indescribable sense of accomplishment. When capturing characters with heavy fabrics and metallic ornaments, post-processing enhances texture, but on-set preparation and lighting control remain essential. Transforming imaginative concepts into tangible anime cosplay visuals is the truest magic of this craft, making every frozen moment worthwhile.
