"Compared to humans, I hate war even more. Humans and spirits can only seek the path of coexistence." Once this line is spoken, Luye's unique and cool character setting instantly feels real.
For this set of Convention photos from Taishan Anime Convention, I tried to present Luye's calm and composed sense through this blue and white dojo uniform. The eyes are the core of character shaping; the light-colored base makeup paired with ice blue contact lenses, a slightly sharp eyebrow shape, and light eyeshadow quickly grab that detached temperament lying somewhere between human and spirit.
In terms of clothing, this V-neck blue and white sports-style jacket features a sharp cut and sophisticated collar design, which, when paired with white trousers and black gloves, visually creates a collision of hardness and softness. Under outdoor light, the fabric texture of the clothing looks very smooth, and the wig was styled along its layers, possessing both the structural sense of the hairstyle itself and retaining naturally falling lines of motion.
Regarding shooting actions, the one-knee-kneeling combat posture and the relaxed feeling when leaning against the railings both require controlling core strength well. I am used to micro-adjusting my arm angles before the shutter clicks to make the lines look more extended. The difficulty of live convention photos lies in the rapidly changing light; thanks to the photographer's patient communication and snapshot capture, we found the right compositions around the railings and outdoor open spaces.
The experience at Taishan Anime Convention this time was great, and the ambient light itself perfectly outlined the character's silhouette. For a good piece of Anime cosplay work, the early preparation of makeup/styling and the state during shooting are equally important, and the final presented texture perfectly aligns with my understanding of the character.
