[Kiryuu Kikyou cosplay] Short Hair Sailor Suit with Beast Ears: Highly Faithful Maiden Aesthetic

For this Kiryuu Kikyou cosplay shoot, my overarching goal was to shape a serene, quiet demeanor touched with an elusive sense of mystery. In terms of wardrobe, I selected a quintessential Sailor suit: a white long-sleeve top paired with a navy blue pleated skirt, complete with meticulously tailored double white stripes tracing the collar and cuffs, alongside that delicate blue line running along the skirt's hem. To faithfully embody the character's iconic silhouette, I wore a Short black hair wig with straight bangs; the black beast ears perched overhead and the fluffy tail trailing behind served as the absolute centerpieces of the styling, their fur texture and subtle gradient falloff rendering beautifully under natural light. We scouted a bright spot by the window, leveraging abundant natural illumination where outdoor greenery framed against warm-toned bed cushions kept the background rich and organic. The blue string for Cat's cradle in my hands became an enchanting interactive prop—as I toyed with classic string figures, the photographer, Fengyu Laiji, captured a succession of candid hand gestures. Perched barefoot on the bed with my torso canted slightly to the side, this domestic relaxation stripped away stiff theatricality in favor of effortless vitality. Prior to this shoot, I checked the mirror countless times to fine-tune the tail's curving angle and the placement of the beast ears, ensuring they never appeared synthetic or stiff across diverse perspectives. Short hair paired with a sailor uniform inherently radiates a cool, detached aura, so for facial management, I refrained from overt grins, opting instead to calmly hold the lens with an unhurried, introspective gaze. The shoot proceeded smoothly throughout: the interplay of light, textiles, and tactile props fully hit the mark, yielding finished frames that effortlessly balance unmistakable 2D character recognition with authentic, grounded warmth.
