The steel-structured overpass at Waihuanlu Subway Station looks exceptionally sharp under the evening light, and I specially chose this location to shoot Makise Kurisu this time. The spatial depth and metallic lines of the venue itself perfectly match the cool, rational atmosphere of the work. Although the flow of pedestrians was indeed more than expected, we could still produce great photos by finding a few relatively quiet corners. This JK uniform paired with a khaki jacket and black leather shorts, plus Martin boots, is overall clean and capable, fitting the character's temperament perfectly. The reddish-brown long straight hair and blue eyes are the core of this outfit. To restore the luster of the hair strands, we tried several angles in front of the light strips on the side of the overpass, using backlighting to bring out the layers at the ends of the hair. During the shoot, I brought a small black water cup as a prop, which not only solved the issue of hands having nowhere to go but also gave the frame a more everyday life feel. Regarding the poses, the first full-body shot with one hand covering the forehead was meant to create a moment of "calculating" or "deep in thought," using the perspective of the corridor to naturally converge the visual focus onto the person. The half-body posed shot with crossed arms emphasizes the communication through the eyes, and combined with the cool-toned ambient light on-site, it tones down the warmth of the picture. Actually, the light in this kind of hardcore structured venue is quite complex, as the overhead steel frames create alternating shadows of light and dark. However, as long as you adjust your positioning to let the key light lean slightly to the side, it can outline facial features beautifully. Before the shoot, I also specially checked the wig's bangs and sideburns to ensure they wouldn't block my eyes. In terms of costume details, I tried my best to keep the purple borders on the collar, the red tie, and the black-and-white stripes on the jacket cuffs neat, and kept the collar of the white shirt crisp, so that it could withstand being zoomed in on close-ups. This outdoor shoot took about two hours, mostly spent on finding angles and waiting for gaps between pedestrians, but seeing the final photos made all the waiting worthwhile. The repetitive structure of the iron bridge, the transparent highlight patches, and the stance of the character happened to form the kind of "sci-fi everyday life feel" picture I wanted. The combination of leather shorts and Martin boots keeps the overall styling capable while visually elongating the leg lines. Paired with the composition of the full-body shot, it perfectly balances the scene's narrative with the character's aura.
