[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Elf girl's Park Afternoon

Today, I finally sorted through this set of outdoor photos for Cartethyia from Wuthering Waves! We picked a public park as the location, primarily drawn to its soft natural lighting and open grassy fields, which matched the mood of this styling impeccably.

First, regarding the hair and makeup prep: Cartethyia's hair transitions in a gradient from golden blonde to soft peachy-pink. To make it appear seamless under natural sunlight, I spent roughly three days styling the wig. The side braids couldn't be too rigid; the roots had to be teased for volume to give the hair an airy, breathable quality. The white branch crown on top was custom-made, with blue star-shaped charms secured to the headpiece using thin wire. Before putting it on, I worried the outdoor wind might knock it askew, but anti-slip padding kept it firmly in place. Makeup centered on the eyes: I chose vivid blue contacts with high pigmentation while keeping the eye makeup minimal, using earthy neutral tones as a base to let the iris color pop. The foundation was kept matte because outdoor shoots easily induce shine, and a matte base guaranteed clean facial skin on camera. Seamlessly blending the Elf ears was tricky: integrating the edges smoothly into the skin required special FX adhesive blended with skin wax. The blue teardrop pendant on the left ear clipped directly onto the prosthetic ear; because it carried noticeable weight, I had to keep neck movements gentle and measured.

As for the wardrobe, the ensemble possesses exceptionally rich layers. The inner layer is a black leather mini-dress embroidered along the hem with white soaring birds and botanical motifs; to capture these subtle textures, photographer @Heishui Anbai had me pose seated at a slight three-quarter angle. The outer sheer white cape draped gracefully, bordered with a blue gradient and gilded linework. The blue shoulder straps and gold buckles not only secured the cape, but also served as lovely visual accents. The black choker around my neck was rather snug, but to preserve character accuracy, I endured wearing it throughout the shoot. Sheer brown detached sleeves covered my upper arms, paired with white coral-like bangles at the wrists—uniting textures from leather and sheer chiffon to polished metal across the styling.

For footwear, I wore clear block-heeled sandals; the white branch ornaments and slender gold rings around the ankles resonated harmoniously with the headpiece crown. Because the heels are completely transparent, walking across the lawn required caution to keep from sinking into the turf. Capturing the first full-body shot, I sat on a weathered wooden bench with my legs crossed—a pose that flattered my leg lines while highlighting the shoe details. To keep the shot from looking stiff, my hands naturally rested lightly against my chest or gently adjusted stray locks of hair.

The shooting process emphasized lighting finesse. Afternoon side-backlighting illuminated the hair, making the golden gradient glow distinctly. Although park visitors passed by, framing strictly isolated the grass and foliage, keeping the backdrop wonderfully clean. Collaborating with the photographer, we tested various framing distances, ultimately selecting one full-body shot and one medium close-up. The full-body shot captured the complete outfit, while the close-up highlighted my facial features and makeup. Throughout this Cartethyia cosplay journey, my deepest takeaway was that layering intricate details requires immense patience. Wearing transparent heels for hours made my ankles sore, yet seeing the finished interplay of light, shadow, and texture made every bit of prep worthwhile. Cosplay is always a tangible realization of one's understanding of a character; this quiet afternoon in the park delivered a serene atmosphere that was completely different from conventions—a truly rewarding Anime-style photography experience.
