[Herta Cosplay] Wisdom in Honkai: Star Rail, Today's Anime-style Worker Doing Field Work

Standing in the outdoor park wearing this exquisite Herta cosplay costume, I took out my phone only to see the system mercilessly reminding me that I am not within the attendance range. Looking at the large words "Field work check-in" on the screen and the timestamp of 13:52:12 on Saturday afternoon, February 14th, and then looking at this outfit of mine packed with 2D anime elements, I really didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I had carefully done my entire makeup and styling to take a few nice photos of Miss Herta, only to be defeated by the physical distance of the real world.

Since my location wasn't within the indoor range, I had to honestly press the field work check-in button. This was probably the most love-hate moment of this Saturday afternoon. I loved it because this big Herta cosplay is truly beautiful, making the early rise and struggle to put on the outfit completely worth it; I hated it because, on this romantic Valentine's Day Saturday, I still had to face the call of work. But on second thought, maybe Miss Herta herself is also in this kind of fully-focused, oblivious-to-the-world "field work" state when researching her strange puppets and massive robots.

Let me talk about my outfit. To restore the character's temperament, I specifically chose this light purple long straight wig. A lot of thought went into trimming and styling the bangs, letting them drape naturally along both sides of my face while retaining the character's lively feel. I also carefully managed the frizziness of the wig, trying to give it more texture. Wearing special purple circle lenses and combined with the makeup, the overall expression presents a cool yet slightly tsundere charm. The black leather choker on my neck is one of the souls of this look; the metal decoration in the front and the small white pouch hanging below add detail layers to the solid black base. The highly eye-catching white openwork keyhole design on the chest, surrounded by detailed patterns, paired with the white lace trims on the collar and cuffs, brings out an elegant yet mysterious aura.

The light on the day of the shoot was actually quite nice, and the purple background overhead merged beautifully into the overall frame. Although I wasn't holding her signature giant hammer prop, this close-up shot showcasing just the half-body layout allows a clearer view of the makeup and fabric details. However, posing in the outdoor breeze with such a long wig is quite a test of patience and style retention; a slight lack of attention and it would be blown into a mess by the wind.

From getting up at 7 AM to apply makeup, put on the wig, organize these delicate clothing details, and then rushing to the shoot location, it actually took most of the day. Sometimes I wonder why I love doing casual cosplay so much. Probably because the moment I put on these outfits, I can briefly step out of my original identity and experience another character's life and personality. Especially when playing a female character with such a distinct personality and superb intelligence, it always makes me unconsciously stand taller, and my expression becomes more confident.

Of course, just like the situation encountered this time, the air of reality is always accompanied by some blunders. Weekend afternoon work check-ins, whether field work or in-office, cannot overshadow my obsession with taking a proper set of cosplay photos. Facing the red "Not within the attendance range" prompt in the navigation system, I can now accept it peacefully, and even take the opportunity to enjoy this outdoor location I found. This vibrant air, filled with the scent of grass, indeed offers a unique sense of reality compared to shooting in an indoor studio. This real awkwardness, just like this post of mine on social media, ultimately melts into a small sense of humor belonging to my weekend as an Anime-style worker.

After taking these basic shots, the next step is to find a way to debug the equipment to find a camera position more suitable for full-body photos. Although today was a day interrupted by work, I still found plenty of joy in this Herta outfit. The materials that need to be captured must still be captured well; after all, putting your favorite character on is a highly motivating thing in itself. In short, today's field work check-in can be considered a different kind of practice of Miss Herta's wisdom.
