[Fugue Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Red and Black Fox Ears with Gold-Adorned Ancient Style Styling

This shoot focused on the spin-off styling of Tingyun and Fugue from Honkai: Star Rail. When I first received this outfit, my immediate impression was the sheer volume of accessories, alongside exceptionally solid craftsmanship in the details.

The main body of the garment is made of deep reddish-brown satin, with white semi-translucent pleated ruffles spliced at the cuffs and neckline. Across the waist, cuffs, and hemline, several sizable three-dimensional metallic floral ornaments are affixed. These metal accessories have a fantastic texture that casts bright reflections under the studio lights; however, because they carry some weight, internal straps had to be fastened tightly to ensure the overall silhouette didn't sag downward.

To complement the visual style of this coordinate, the hair and makeup featured long hair highlighted in red and black, topped with plush black animal ears lined with white fur, accented on the sides with golden leaves and floral hairpieces. For makeup, reddish eyeshadow blending was deepened, paired with long red press-on nails to create a sharper, more striking presence.

The set was styled with traditional carved wooden folding screens, yellow artificial bouquets, and classical decorative ornaments in the background. During the shoot, the first sequence had me sitting on the daybed covering my face with one hand, as the photographer aimed to capture a languid, half-awake state. The second setup featured me sitting at the edge of the bed with legs crossed and elongated, focusing on showcasing Long legs and high heels; the slit design of this dress accommodated this seated pose perfectly without feeling restrictive.

The third sequence was the most physically exhausting. To explore varied compositional perspectives, the photographer had me recline sideways on the wooden daybed with legs bent, sinking into layers of heavy textiles and reddish-brown sheets. Because the skirt and sleeves are expansive, and the metallic flowers easily snagged on the fabric, every change of pose required completely reorganizing the drape of the hemline and cuffs. To ensure the metal accessories consistently caught the key light, subtle body angle adjustments were also necessary.

In the end, I was very satisfied with the interplay of light and shadow in the final frames. The metallic sheen was beautifully highlighted under the warm ambient light, while the reddish-brown garment harmonized seamlessly with the dark wooden screens. Much of the session was spent refining costume placement and posture, making it quite tiring, but fully presenting every costume detail made all the hard work worth it.
