A portion of the convention photos from the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition is finally retouched. To portray Wang Zhaojun from Honor of Kings properly, I began overhauling this costume more than half a month in advance. The fur collar and cuffs are made of relatively dense faux fur; while visually faithful to the ice and snow theme, wearing it in the convention hall was actually quite stuffy.

The wig was chosen as a long, straight ice-blue style with trimmed bangs fixed in place using hairspray. To ensure high-quality texture before the lens, the plush headpiece and snowflake ornaments on the crown were doubly secured using hairpin clips and concealed wire. The rhinestone sticker on my forehead was also applied with sweat-resistant adhesive, staying firmly attached throughout a full day at the expo.

What I want to share most is the staff prop in my hands. It was crafted using a combination of EVA foam and acrylic sheets. To recreate the crystalline transparency of ice, glossy clear coat was applied to the surface, and an LED light strip was hidden inside. Truthfully, holding this long-handled staff aloft at the convention heavily tested arm endurance; to keep poses steady during shooting, my upper arm muscles were constantly exerting force.

The photoshoot was scheduled into the evening, which let us leverage the night scenery to elevate the mood. Lighting is crucial for convention photos: because both the garment and the wig are cool-toned, the photographer filled the front with a warm-white key light and added a blue rim light on the side. This separated the subject's edges from the dark background, allowing the camera to cleanly capture both the plush fur textures and the specular glints on the ice crystals.

The series of seated floor photos was shot barefoot over a white fuzzy blanket. The light-blue gradient pantyhose matched the garment's palette harmoniously, and a slightly angled profile visually elongated the leg lines with White stockings aesthetics. It was actually quite cold that day, but to achieve great results, I held poses in the chilly wind for several hours, and the overall yield of usable shots was very satisfying. This outfit involves numerous delicate details that truly demand patience to maintain, yet the moment I saw the final photos, everything felt entirely worth it.
