[Changli Cosplay] Wuthering Waves Cosplay Photoshoot Finale: Reviewing the Big and Small Details from the Shoot

The final volume of the Changli Wuthering Waves Cosplay photoshoot has officially been released, marking a very high level of completion for this set. First was the night scene shoot: the lighting here featured warm tones that harmonized wonderfully with the crimson pillars to match the character's innate elegance. Photographer Longxiang Nightfall exercised meticulous control over lighting, particularly with the prop oil-paper umbrella. Because the paper material was relatively thin and light passed through easily, posing required significant care to steady my center of gravity while adjusting angles to achieve a luminous, translucent look across the umbrella canopy. For this night set, I wore black stockings, which carried a rich texture under the cool fill light and seamlessly complemented the character's costume design.

The outdoor portion was set in a Chinese traditional style garden, right by the water where traditional pavilions and red lanterns stood. The lighting was very gentle under an overcast sky. In this setting, the photographer utilized a telephoto lens to compress the background, giving the traditional pavilions and towers rich depth and layering. Because the edges of the stone balustrades were somewhat sharp, we explored various angles to complement my posture while ensuring safety.

Regarding post-processing, the particle effects in Photo 1 matched the character's fiery elemental theme spot-on. Such effects require raw shots that aren't excessively underexposed, so exposure settings were strictly calculated during shooting, allowing ample shadow and highlight details to be preserved in post.

Pre-production preparations were equally extensive. The wig was challenging to maintain, and the two-toned hairstyle required dedicated time to treat the tips. Because of the night shoot, long-lasting smudge-proof makeup products were chosen, and setting powder was applied meticulously to prevent the eyeliner from running over hours of shooting. For the prop strapping, we tested the tightness multiple times to avoid painful pinching, settling on a fit that was both comfortable and visually faithful.

Overall, this Cosplay photoshoot is the fruit of cohesive teamwork. Navigating through historic architecture meant high heels could get caught between paving stones, requiring careful footwork. The entire shoot lasted several hours, which served as a gradual immersion into character for me. By this final volume, my understanding and portrayal of the character reached a more complete fruition. When organizing and arranging the layout, I deliberately kept photos that best showcased styling details and environmental ambiance.

Although the shooting process was filled with challenges, the final visual presentation made every effort worthwhile—recreating the essence of the work through my own perspective served as a rewarding conclusion to this entire photoshoot series.
