This outdoor photoshoot set of Toy Merchant - Feather of Dawn was shot in the evening and night of May. Looking back now at these finalized photos on my computer, I feel that all the hard work—getting bitten by mosquitoes in the suburban park and carefully stepping along the stone steps by the water—received a truly worthy reward. Photographer Longxiang's skills were excellent, capturing many natural and vivid moments, especially the dynamic shot of me spinning and jumping on the stream's flagstones, where the white, blue, and gold color-blocked costume stood out brilliantly in the frame.

Let's talk about the specific details of this outfit. To recreate the visual feel of the "Feather of Dawn" skin, a lot of effort went into the styling. The blue beads, golden wings, and ruby patchwork on the headpiece were completely hand-sewn, which, paired with two long braided pigtails woven with gold hair accessories, instantly brought out this exotic flair. The bright blue trim on the vest forms a sharp contrast with the pure white base of the dress, while the vine and wave embroidery outlined in gold thread is very heavy-duty work, not ordinary printing. The oversized green gem bracer on my wrist is quite heavy on its own, making my arm tired if held up for long, but it had to be worn for the sake of image quality. The alternating red and green geometric diamond pattern on the waist belt and the thick blue tassels at the bottom also serve as the visual centerpiece of the overall look.

The shooting environment was actually a real test. In May, the wind by the water was quite strong, causing the white dress to blow around easily. To prevent the skirt from being swept into the water by the wind, we had to wait for the wind to abate slightly before quickly taking snapshot shots. The sunset light on the water surface was truly beautiful, especially as the shimmering waves reflected warm orange light spots on the water, illuminating the white dress lining and making the integration between person and environment exceptionally high. At night, after moving to the park lawn, that grassy field turned out to be a great solid-color background. Working with lighting gear, we intentionally created an aura as if the character were in the dark night yet bathed in sacred light. Especially in the seated group of photos, when holding my hands together with eyes closed, my mind felt much quieter than usual—that state closely mirrored the gentle feel in the character's setting.

When many friends see this character in the game, they might feel she's like a support player constantly delivering props, with a cute or fresh exterior. But actually wearing this costume and standing in an outdoor real-world set allows one to more genuinely feel the strength and clarity of that "desert princess" within her. As mentioned in the post description quote, "Wherever the sunlight reaches, all darkness has an exit," the original intention behind shooting this set was to convey this temperament of maintaining a bright presence even in adversity through an authentic lens. Post-processing did not use excessive skin smoothing or distorting filters, preserving the contours of the subject and the true temperature of the outdoor location under natural light, giving the entire image more vitality. This outdoor shoot ends here; I am very happy to record my understanding of Toy Merchant - Feather of Dawn into concrete images within May's light and shadow through anime cosplay.
