This set of Furina photos was shot indoors in a studio with a dark wood-grained classical background. My photographer friend intentionally lowered the overall ambient brightness when setting up the lights, utilizing side-backlighting to outline the character's silhouette and the layering of hair strands. Paired with a deep brown Chesterfield sofa, it recreated a cinematic atmosphere with a textured feel. To match the temperament of Fontaine's big star mentioned in the caption, I deliberately adjusted my posture to a relaxed sitting position during the shoot, and the action of holding the prop cup with both hands was also intended to give the composition more stability, making it look more like a spontaneous snapshot of daydreaming in a stage's private dressing room.
The wig chosen this time was in a silver-white color scheme. The part that required the most effort in styling was that exaggerated cowlick on top; to keep it secured without looking too rigid, the stylist used a thickened steel wire for support inside, covered with hair strands on the outside. Assembling the hat also took some thought; the blue-and-gold brim combined with complex metal accessories required quite a while just to adjust the angle on my head, ensuring it wouldn't block my vision while maintaining its stylistic integrity. The sleeves of the costume feature layering; the stitching between the deep blue coat and the white lining boasts very detailed craftsmanship, keeping the entire top from looking bulky. These details instead reveal more luster under the low-key lighting.
For the leather straps and metal buckles on the thigh portion, the proportion issue was actually intentionally considered during coordination; they couldn't be tied too tightly, otherwise it would affect the subsequent movement of sitting down, yet they had to be secured enough so they wouldn't slide down when moving. Effort was also put into selecting the leather material for the gloves, needing them to fit the hand contour neatly. That way, when picking up the prop cup, the lines of the fingertips would look natural and beautiful, rather than looking rugged due to fabric bunching up.
In terms of makeup, to coordinate with the character's eye expression, I used red-orange colored contact lenses as a base, and the lines of the eye makeup were slightly extended outward to both sides, so that the gaze would look more focused and spirited on camera. The overall makeup was quite clean without over-emphasizing highlights, aligning with the darker color tones presented in the studio shoot. When sitting sideways on the sofa, because the leather surface of the sofa was quite slippery, I had to adjust my posture several times before finding an angle that was both comfortable and photogenic. This presentation style, which doesn't require a lot of large-area bright colors and relies purely on light, shadow, and styling silhouettes to fill the frame, heavily tests a cosplayer's contemplation of the character's state.
Setting aside the character's original setting, purely as a studio shoot creation, this set of photos actually put the coordination of costumes, makeup, and props to the test. Every single accessory was far from lightweight. After putting everything on completely—from the hat to the coat cuffs and then to the leg straps—and sitting on the sofa, maintaining an elegant and relaxed demeanor actually required quite a bit of core strength to balance. During the shoot, we also experimented with multiple hand placement methods for holding the cup, such as holding it with one hand or cupping it with both hands. Ultimately, the two-handed cupping posture was chosen because it carried a stronger sense of visual stability and possessed a touch of introverted drama.
Adding the classical elements incorporated into the frame by the photographer, the dark wooden wall echoed the high stool in front, making the spatial atmosphere of the entire photo highly unified. This relatively quiet, unpretentious handling approach meshes beautifully with the character's own temperament—carrying a slice of distance yet remaining magnificent. When reviewing the overall effect after the photos were processed, it indeed achieved that exact texture we envisioned during early conceptualization. Looking back at this set of photos, the design details on the costume and props, combined with the on-site coordination, beautifully preserved the characteristics of this entire look for this piece of Anime cosplay under Genshin Impact.
