Over the Mid-Autumn holiday, I finally scheduled this heavy-armored styling for W. Friends had been urging me for updates for a long time, and I finally assembled the entire loadout. The most demanding aspect of the costume was the leather top and intricate strapping: the black leather high collar and waist-baring cut flatter bodily proportions beautifully, yet the material lacks any breathability—even inside an air-conditioned studio, a single session left me drenched in sweat. The voluminous red puff sleeves along the upper arms exude intense visual tension, pairing with black mesh forearm bracers for rich dimensional layers. The shorts on the lower half were heavily rigged with white straps, metal buckles, and leg harness rings; putting it on alone was impossible, requiring a friend's hands to fine-tune the tension.
The colossal mechanical weapon prop served as the true dual test of physical stamina and technical execution. Entirely handcrafted, this heavy artillery piece features a black, silver, and crimson colorway integrated with corrugated conduits and industrial cabling, boasting an extraordinarily complex construction. Its weight was staggering: whether slung across my shoulder or planted beside me, finding the exact center of gravity was vital to avoid immediate muscle fatigue. During takes, I continuously recalibrated my weapon-bearing stance to project the prop's mechanical density and overbearing intimidation, while aligning with the key lights so the silver-gray metallic surfaces cast authentic specular highlights.
Styling and makeup also received meticulous care. The silver-white wig was custom layered with subtle pinkish-red highlights, while the crimson horn-shaped headpieces had to be clamped down firmly to withstand dynamic movement. Golden-brown contacts paired with a red-and-black eye palette emphasized sharp, incisive eyeliner to capture W's cold, manic resolve. Facial control required unwavering discipline throughout—maintaining an aloof, haughty detachment with an unflinching gaze.
For the set, we rolled out a solid crimson seamless backdrop paired with high-intensity stage strobes, allowing the red-and-black palette to pop with ferocious clarity. In photo two's profile standing stance, when the rim light contoured the waistline and leg lines, I immediately knew we had nailed it. Though my waist and arms protested from holding heavy weapon postures, seeing the raw previews on screen made every ounce of exhaustion thoroughly worthwhile. The gear is brimming with nuances, from the weathered battle-worn distressing on the prop to every single hanging tactical strap. It was grueling work, yet the imagery is profoundly satisfying, and the full gallery is currently exporting.
