The primary challenge of this shoot lay in the dual posing and prop coordination. I portrayed Loughshinny—Reed cosplay—while my partner cosplayed her elder sister, Eblana cosplay. To stay faithful to the original Arknights designs, the garments utilized structured fabrics to maintain clean silhouettes. The horns on our heads were particularly demanding, crafted through silicone mounting and specialized coatings; ensuring they stayed securely anchored throughout movement required extensive adjustments to the fasteners and bandaging.
The dark purple tail was quite heavy, so we embedded aluminum wire inside to shape a natural, sweeping curve. I adjusted its position repeatedly during takes to keep it from hanging stiffly. Because the framing showcased leg contours, we selected form-fitting dark tights to flatter leg lines while blending into the cool ambient lighting of deep purple and luminous blue in this Stockings cosplay. The shoot took place in an indoor venue featuring stained-glass windows with rich ambient light. Gradient purple and blue lighting fixtures created lovely translucence across our hair and sheer chiffon gowns. This tested the fabric choices: heavy fabric swallowed the light while overly sheer fabric risked wardrobe malfunctions, leading us to reinforce all garment seams for secure interaction during close embrace poses.
The photographer guided us through various partner-posing mechanics. Leaning against each other from behind demanded precise balance—leaning back meant my partner had to firmly ground her stance while projecting an affectionate, reliant expression. Embodying these characters places high demands on eye acting, especially when sporting dragon horns, requiring an aura of poised detachment softened by subtle warmth. For makeup, matching the long white hair and pink-purple gradient called for a cool pale base, blue contact lenses, muted brows, and extended eyeliner to impart softness. I also assisted in post-processing, smoothing wig flyaways and layering environmental bloom to preserve that dreamlike atmosphere. We poured immense effort into faithfully recreating the textures and visual weight of this Eblana x Reed cosplay, and we are thrilled with the final outcome.
