This time, I dove straight into challenging a Vesna cosplay from Genshin Impact. To live up to the title of 'Snezhnaya Meme Queen' teased in the post, this shoot didn't chase after massive scenic sets, but instead focused entirely on the depiction of animated facial expressions.
On the wardrobe front, the cyan-and-white color proportions of this outfit are exceptionally striking. The form-fitting bodice fabric carries a subtle luster; the large white chest bow and the metallic-textured rhombus ornament needed to be anchored firmly with snap fasteners, otherwise they would easily shift during dynamic poses. The blue gemstone neckpiece and the golden trim along the detachable sleeves pop with distinct metallic sheen under studio lights. The white plush fur collar draping the shoulders not only adds volumetric fullness, but also visually flatters the collarbones and shoulder contours, combining with the strapless neckline cut to lend the whole silhouette rich dimensional layering.
The wig was the true centerpiece of the styling. I selected pale platinum blonde as the base tone, accented with cyan-green gradient dip-dyes on the inner layers and tips, leaving soft curls framing both sides of the face. The silver openwork headdress topped with the central blue rhombus gem was assembled piece by piece using craft adhesive; wearing it required securing it firmly to the crown with bobby pins. Although it carried some weight, the dimensional silhouette from both frontal and profile angles was spectacular. Blending the elf ear prosthetics also took considerable time, applying heavy concealer along the edges to ensure no seams were visible before the lens.
For makeup, I focused on intensifying the under-eye blush to evoke a cold-flushed look, pairing it with pale-green contact lenses to soften facial features overall.
Capturing these meme expressions was an absolute blast. We started with an eyes-closed cheering state, requiring pulled-back shoulders and hands raised high to tap into that carefree, uninhibited vibe. Next came the wide-eyed smile, and finally throwing conventional poise out the window to tackle open-mouthed gasps—completely abandoning expression management, augmented with black-and-white dot-eyes in post-production to flawlessly recreate the hilarious comic flair of 2D illustrations. To nail that split-second comical state, I repeatedly adjusted how wide my eyes opened and the angle of my smile before the camera. These expressions look simple, but actually test facial muscle control severely—especially that guilty, awkward dot-eye look; I kept replaying all sorts of funny scenes in my head just to let my guard down completely.
Wrapping up this shoot completely shattered my usual poised demeanor, turning out so vibrant and lively. I hope everyone can feel this lighthearted, joy-filled atmosphere.
