For these Cosplay convention photos, I cosplayed Nefer from Genshin Impact. The top half of the costume is made of a glossy dark green material with golden ornaments on the chest and gold shoulder armor. The bottom half is a white mini skirt with light-colored lines and gold trim. The arms feature dark blue long gloves with green lines and gold patterns, tapering into sharp fingertips. The thigh has a black thigh garter, paired with golden pointed-toe high heels that reflect light and have straps along the back. The hair is styled cyan-blue short hair, and the forehead is adorned with golden horn accessories centered with a diamond-shaped gemstone. The makeup used reddish tones around the eyes combined with colored contacts to enhance the sharpness of the gaze.
During the shoot, the first picture features a pose with one leg raised, where all the weight is placed on the right leg and the left leg is bent. This pose was designed to better display the details of the thigh garter and shoes while letting the long ribbons float with the dynamic movement. It was quite exhausting physically; to stabilize the center of gravity and maintain the curve of the ribbons, the photographer tried several rounds of angles while the assistant continuously adjusted the fabric behind me. The second picture is a frontal standing pose with crossed legs and an upright posture, mainly showcasing the overall silhouette of the costume and body proportions.
The venue was an indoor hall at the convention with gray pillars, a black ceiling structure, round overhead lights, and reflective concrete flooring. Due to the complex lighting, we opened the aperture as wide as possible during the Convention photography to blur the background. The fabrics have high reflectivity, especially the dark green top and golden shoes, which really tested the lighting technique to avoid overexposure. The long cyan-blue ribbons are wide and heavy, easily dragging on the ground to catch dust or getting stepped on by onlookers, so extra caution was required while shooting.
The process of wearing this outfit is quite complicated: from the inner bodysuit to the gloves, securing the back ribbons, and adjusting the thigh garter, everything took time. The stiletto heels are very thin, requiring controlled pacing when walking to avoid twisting an ankle. Throughout the convention, repeatedly adjusting poses and positioning for these two photos took a lot of physical stamina. The resulting texture leans toward cool tones, fitting the overall visual style well. During the shoot, I also strove to align my vibe with the character itself, recreating that unique presence through eye contact and posture. This serves as a brief record of this convention shoot, as well as a heartfelt interpretation of this character's costume.
