Choosing this seaside garden cafe as the location for this ACG outdoor location shoot was to use bright natural light to accentuate the transparency of this costume. The sun was just right on the day of the shoot, with a gentle breeze brushing through the gaps in the palm leaves, and we completed the entire framing on outdoor rattan chairs. The blue-and-white striped bow tie on the collar and the emerald gem are the visual focus of the entire look, showing sharp texture under the bright light. Paired with a matching light violet long wig and elf ears, it creates a vacation atmosphere with an anime flair under the sun. To capture a satisfying state, I made some minor twists to my makeup to match the colored contacts; the reddish-orange lenses made my gaze look more agile. Before shooting, I spent some time styling the curves of the wig, striving to make the edges of the hair present natural layers and prevent it from looking messy due to the sea breeze.
The little props prepared that day were also amazing; the special drink with rosemary on the table and a small plate of blueberry dessert perfectly matched the coastal environment. During the shoot, we tried many different poses, capturing both the serenity of resting my chin on one hand while staring into the distance, and playful moments like picking up a fork to pretend to taste the dessert. Especially that close-up of lightly biting the fork at the edge of my lips had a strong visual impact, and I really love this kind of lifestyle-infused candid shot. The lighting control in this set was very precise. The photographer used umbrellas and shadows from green plants to create a soft highlight transition zone, avoiding overexposure from intense direct sunlight. The resulting beach photography series features clear colors without distortion, relying little on post-production editing, and preserving the authentic texture and temperature of the scene.
The blue-and-purple colorway platform sandals on my feet are also worth mentioning, featuring heart-shaped cutouts paired with pink laces, keeping the entire look aligned with the blue and white sailor suit main theme. Fixing the elf ears is actually a technical task. We had to ensure they looked seamless from all angles while managing the connection with the bangs and wig. We put a lot of thought into securing them this time, making this elf cosplay experience seamless with no awkward gaps in front of the lens. Every time I do a cosplay for an ACG outdoor location session, I am constantly searching for the best integration point between the character and the scene. It's not just about restoring the costume and styling; the interaction between expressions and the environment is equally important. This way of bringing an anime persona into a real-world three-dimensional summer makes the process itself full of fun, making me feel as though I had briefly spent a blissful holiday afternoon.
