Preparing this Robin cosplay truly took quite a bit of time. The cool-toned ambient lighting of the bar counter setting harmonized beautifully with the blue-and-white color palette of the costume. The star-shaped charms and purple embroidery along the skirt hem showed rich texture. To recreate the character's signature lightness, I trimmed away overly heavy accessories from the original design, thinned out the wig's layering, and reinforced the halo on top to ensure stability during the Cosplay photography session.
During shooting, the main hurdle was balancing on the slick bar counter edge in deep blue High heels while executing demanding poses. For example, when sitting sideways, showcasing the leg lines and crisscross strap details of the shoes required keeping the instep pointed, fine-tuning my center of gravity multiple times to achieve the ideal pose. The skirt easily slipped when raising my legs, so constant hem adjustments were necessary between takes.
For makeup, I opted for bright blue colored contacts and translucent red lips, adding delicate red star accents beneath the eyes and finely elongating the eyeliner. Paired with blue ambient lighting and subtle starlight particle effects added in post-production, the overall mood closely mirrored the in-game character lore. Kneeling and leaning against the counter repeatedly during the shoot was tiring, but the final results were thoroughly gratifying. In this kind of Roleplay, a character's refined etiquette is hidden in subtle nuances; thus, whether reaching out or resting my chin on my hand, I consciously relaxed my hand muscles to avoid stiffness.
The upper bodice features abundant ruffles, whose voluminous cuffs could easily steal the spotlight under ambient lighting; fortunately, post-processing enhanced the crisp details of the star and moon charms. The long wig was quite heavy, risking an unbalanced top-heavy look when let down, so I incorporated braids and side feather hairpieces to balance the visual proportions and keep the hair looking airy and weightless. The insights gained from this shoot have left me excited for the upcoming swimsuit version. The fabric of swimwear is vastly different from ornate formal dresses, calling for fresh lighting strategies and posing choreography. I hope to embrace this character's new look and bring forth a fresh visual experience.
