The photos for this Rikka Takanashi shoot are finally sorted out, and the overall atmosphere really aligns perfectly with my expectations. In the work Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, Rikka Takanashi's personality is full of contradictory beauty, possessing both the determination to protect something and the purity belonging to a chunibyo girl. To restore that moment of the "soul contract," the photographer @θΏδΈͺε°ε and I decided during our initial communication to create a private, ritualistic space.
At the shooting site, I kept looping the classic line "You have looked into my eyes, and with this, our contract is complete" in my head. To capture the oppressive and mysterious sense of that "soul contract," we experimented with various shifts in light and shadow. In this final set of selected photos, my favorite part is the delicate emotion flowing through the quiet indoor environment. Especially this time, the makeup and styling achieved high restoration; that iconic purple hair color looks highly textured under the light and shadow, instantly immersing people into that world of magic and fantasy. To match the scene, I intentionally chose a bedroom filled with life vibes, using soft pillows and slightly aged musical instruments to contrast the grand and complex scale of Rikka's inner world. I hope that through these lenses, everyone can feel the dedication deep inside Rikka born from her desire to protect, entering that fantasy space connected by the contract together to experience this soul resonance that transcends reality.
