[Cartethyia Cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Blue and White Gradient and Natural Light and Shadow

The most pleasant surprise about this Cartethyia cosplay costume lies in the lightweight blue-and-white gradient fabric, especially the drape of the ribbons; when the wind blows, they complement the willow branches beautifully, looking truly agile. To perfectly match the character's temperament, the wig styling also intentionally retained the form of natural long, straight golden hair, which, combined with the silver forehead accessory and rhinestones, makes the overall visual effect appear cooler and more pure.

This outdoor location was selected under the willow trees by the lake, with the exact purpose of borrowing the real, natural light and shadow of the outdoors. The morning light penetrated through the branches and leaves onto the water surface, perfectly outlining the rim light on the body. During the shooting process, because the outdoor lighting contrast was quite high, a slight lack of control would lead to reflections on the prop sword or overexposure of the white tulle drapes. Through repeated communication with the photographer regarding lighting angles, avoiding direct overhead light, and searching for dappled tree shadows, we ultimately allowed the blue-and-white transition colors of the costume and the hollowed-out details on the arms and waist to be beautifully presented. The post-processing color grading also tried its best to maintain that translucent outdoor feel.

As for the props, the size and weight of the gold-hilted long sword were carefully selected, so holding it in my hand allowed it to hang naturally or be held in a casual reverse grip without causing stiff postures due to fatigue. The transparent thick-heeled sandals on my feet paired with pearlescent white flower ornaments at the ankles serve as a relatively delicate little embellishment in this styling, allowing the entire outfit to retain a touch of exquisite detail handling while preserving the character's casual and free spirit.

Overall, the sense of atmosphere brought by shooting on location outdoors is truly irreplaceable by studio shoots. The elements of water and willow trees just happened to echo the character's inherently flowing setting. The weather was amazing today, making the shooting efficiency very high, resulting in a highly joyful creative experience in outdoor portrait photography and anime cosplay.
