[Vivian cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Mockingbird Themed Vintage Study Afternoon Tea

Collaborating with Xiaoqi on this Mockingbird official photoshoot was an exceptionally fluid experience. Photographer Bai Dian'er exhibited absolute mastery over lighting and chiaroscuro; as soon as the warm-toned studio strobes washed across the set, that vintage, subtly enigmatic atmosphere snapped instantly into place.

To faithfully embody Vivian, extensive groundwork went into styling and costume tailoring. The two-tone violet-and-white wig was intricately sculpted to ensure natural, airy hair separation with generous volume. The prosthetic elf ears and crimson irises served as the visual soul of the look; in cosmetics, I accented the lower eyelids with delicate red accents, paired with pointed black stiletto nails to deliver striking visual edge. Beneath the black waistcoat, the white inner blouse featured ornate ruffled cuffs, while an oversized navy ribbon bowtie pinned with a metallic crest at the throat enriched the textural layering. The skirt's asymmetrical hemline, layered over a crisp white pleated underskirt, yielded gorgeous three-dimensional depth whether sitting or walking.

The set design was curated with exceptional care—a tufted leather sofa set against towering wooden bookshelves and a vintage grandfather clock, accompanied by practical props like an antique rotary telephone, gilded picture frames, and white porcelain teaware. In the photos, cradling a teacup or leafing through leather-bound books helped my gestures unfold organically. Down below, Black stockings paired with deep navy Mary Jane shoes elongated the leg lines while anchoring the look firmly in retro-gothic fantasy fashion.

During shooting, I explored varied seated postures to refine composition—resting clasped hands across the lap or holding a teacup with one hand to let body language project her demeanor. Because the blouse sleeves are voluminous, I had to ensure movements didn't obscure the tailored waistline of the vest. Eye focus was equally crucial; holding an even or slightly downcast gaze through crimson colored contacts lent an air of aloof, aristocratic mystery. Working alongside Xiaoqi was seamless; we constantly helped each other adjust garments and refine light angles, keeping workflow remarkably efficient.

During proofing, I was delighted to find that both natural skin texture and intricate fabric weaves were preserved with stunning clarity, keeping shadow gradients rich without crushing into pure black—testament to the importance of meticulous on-set lighting. The textures of the props shone with tactile fidelity, from the rich wood grain of the vintage telephone to the metallic sheen of the receiver. Successfully realizing our envisioned frames made this an immensely rewarding Game cosplay shoot.
