[Vivian Cosplay] The Elegant Contrast in Zenless Zone Zero: Church Outdoor Shoot Record

This time I went out to shoot a set of Zenless Zone Zero Vivian cosplay outdoors. The real-scene venue was chosen at a gothic-style peaked church architecture and the lakeside right beside it; the overall atmosphere paired quite well with the character's style. The line mentioned in the post description, \"Every morning is a first encounter with you, and every night is a reunion,\" gave me a lot of emotional reference during the shoot, and I hope the final cuts can present a bit of that feeling.

Let's first talk about the coordination of this costume; the design utilizes many asymmetrical elements. The upper body features a white wide-sleeved shirt with bell-shaped cuffs and fine, neat pleats along the edges, looking exceptionally dynamic when raising my arms. The neckline has a deep blue bow tie collar, with a purple gemstone decoration embedded right in the middle, forming a beautiful color correspondence with the character's red pupils and light purple hair. The outer black corset vest has a rather complex structure with a lot of details on the lacing and metal fasteners; it took several adjustments when putting it on to make the waistline look sleek without appearing bulky, while sharpening the upper body's silhouette.

The lower body skirt hem is also a part I particularly like. The white inner short skirt plus the black-blue color-blocked asymmetrical leather outer layer, along with the long black streamers in front, creates a flowing yet sharp dynamic feel when moving around. This shoot was specially paired with a Black tights outfit, coordinating with the criss-cross lacing design at the thighs to visually elongate the lower body proportions. On my feet, I wore black glossy platform Mary Jane shoes with a ring of silver metal buckles around the ankles; the heel height was just right, ensuring both standing stability and adding a touch of exquisite detail to the outfit.

In terms of styling, many adjustments were also made. The Elf ears cosplay props selected were a relatively natural, skin-friendly style, and the angle was adjusted several times before the obvious connection seams were hidden. The light purple wig had its bangs and center parting line trimmed, and the deep blue bow headband on top served as an excellent accent piece. For makeup, I focused heavily on intensifying the eyeliner and red eyeshadow to make the gaze look more piercing. The hand-held black curved-handle umbrella was also a highly important prop; the umbrella edges feature black lace ruffles. Whether slinging it over my shoulders, leaning it against my body, or holding it in its collapsed state, it beautifully enriches hand movements, preventing the poses from looking too stiff.

Outdoor shoots really test the cooperation between the photographer and the coser. The frames in front of the church's stained glass windows had highly clear lighting, and the light filtering and refracting through the glass felt exceptionally soft on the face. The two photos by the water featured a large area of shimmering waves and water reflections in the background, which, along with the distant church spires, gave a strong sense of layering. Among them, there was a full-body picture standing on a single leg (Picture 3), with the center of gravity placed on one leg while the other side was slightly lifted, coordinating with the umbrella propped against the ground. This both displays the complete structure of the costume and highlights the details of the black silk and the shoes, balancing the overall pose quite well. However, because I had to maintain this action without collapsing, my core and abdomen were actually tightened, and I really needed to relax the moment the shoot finished.

The weather was great on the shoot day. Although the sunlight was a bit harsh in some spots, the light became very uniform in places filtering through the cloud layer or building shadows. The resulting cuts carry a slightly cool color tone, which beautifully matches the character's temperament. During the shoot, I communicated with the photographer about the focus of post-processing, mainly hoping to preserve the texture of the materials, such as the reflection on the leather skirt surface, the semi-translucent feel of the tights, and the glossy shine of the shoes. Going outdoors this time definitely deepened my understanding of the character. Although the complex structure of the clothing brought some wearing difficulties, the presented results are still highly satisfying for this Gothic style cosplay look.
