[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] The red-eyed swordsman in Zenless Zone Zero

It took about half a month from trial makeup to final styling for this Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay. The wig is of paramount importance; the texture of the blunt bangs and the long sideburns directly affects the overall vibe. The wig strands I chose have a matte finish to best recreate that capable yet soft feel in the game. To stay true to the character's red colored contact lenses, I specifically chose a highly translucent pair of red contacts, paired with a slight reddish smudging at the outer corners of the eyes, striving for that aloof yet profound visual effect in front of the lens. The pair of greyish-black kemonomimi ears on top of the head were also custom-made, and the fluffiness was adjusted multiple times to achieve the current state. The white flower hair ornament on the side is dotted with a golden bead in the center, serving as a bright spot amidst the dark hair color; details cannot be taken lightly. The costume's fidelity was the most energy-consuming part of this shoot. The white and gold base color is accented with golden diamond-shaped zigzag patterns, especially the layered design at the collar and waist, which creates rich shadow dimensions under lighting. The sleeve covers use black fabric paneling, which not only enhances the extension of the arm lines but also, combined with the golden wrist guards, neutralizes the softness and adds a bit of combat readiness. While shooting, wearing this outfit and holding that huge sword meant that the anti-slip design of the hilt offered a bit of reassurance when gripping it with both hands, but because the blade is wide and heavy, my arms really had to exert continuous force to maintain the posture, and my arms were sore for a long time the next day. However, seeing the effect of the finished photos, I feel that this weight is also part of the character's charm. During the shoot, I particularly liked the pose in the first picture where I slightly touch my collar with a downward gaze—no exaggerated movements, but the hand interaction reveals a quiet and even somewhat tender side of the character outside the battlefield. The second picture returns to the weapon; holding the sword with both hands naturally sharpens one's aura. While shooting this set, I constantly adjusted my expression, wanting to maintain that chill sternness without looking dull. The makeup artist applied a slightly glossy pink treatment to the lips to tone down the aggressiveness and add a touch of youthful vibrancy. The entire shoot took place in an indoor studio, using simple reflectors and top lighting to create a clean and crisp atmosphere. Though a bit exhaustive, the process was exceptionally fulfilling. From dismantling and wearing the costume to styling the wig and adjusting angles to match the lighting, every step tested my patience, but pursuing something I love made it feel thoroughly worthwhile. This set of photos is my personal interpretation presenting the character's sharpness and intricate details.
