[Dialyn Cosplay] Sweet & Cool Look with Two-Tone Black-and-White Wig and White Silk Thigh Garter

Shooting this Dialyn Cosplay look from Zenless Zone Zero took a lot of careful thought from early prep to the actual shoot. When I first saw her official design, the black-and-white two-tone hair felt super distinct. Paired with those fluffy hair accessories featuring red accents and black-and-white panda motifs, the overall vibe is sweet, cool, and playfully mischievous. To achieve that voluminous yet natural twintail state for the wig, crimping and styling alone took nearly an hour.

The costume details are equally captivating. The black off-the-shoulder cut with gold-and-white stripes forms a highlight for the top, while the short neck scarf with cyan-blue piping paired with red-and-white Chinese frog buttons breaks up the monotony of solid black. The wide white ruffled cuffs softly wrap around the arms, combining with black half-finger gloves to create a blend of sweet charm and techwear functional aesthetics. However, the hardest part of crafting this outfit was ensuring those frog buttons and trim wouldn't shift during large movements, but thankfully everything stayed secure during today's shoot.

For the location, instead of going outdoors, we chose an indoor office environment with window blinds. Warm yellow light filtered down through the slats, falling right across my shoulders and wig to create a cozy, relaxed ambiance. This created a lovely warm-cool contrast against the black-and-white attire. I personally adore the framing in Photo 2, sitting with legs crossed where the white silk thigh garter becomes the visual focus. The black leather thigh garter adorned with small white pom-poms adds strong anime character attributes; I specifically adjusted several sitting angles during the shoot to let this detail shine naturally.

For makeup, to suit her slightly aloof yet lively temperament, I chose yellow-green contact lenses, paired with earth-tone eyeshadow and an emphasized lower eyeliner to make the eyes pop. For the hair, beyond elevating the top volume, I left some breathability in the straight bangs so they wouldn't look too rigid. The thick side braid with a large gold hair ring was my favorite finishing touch for the hair styling.

During the shoot, there was a candid moment in Photo 3 holding a snack. The prop master prepared a small dessert garnished with a strawberry; holding it naturally softened my demeanor, making my facial expression and hand gestures feel relaxed. Compared to stiff posing, candid captures with a touch of Casual cosplay real-life flair turn out much better. During post-processing, we leaned toward warmer tones to solidify that cozy indoor feel.

Combining elements like white silk stockings and garters really helps shape character personality. When styled tastefully without being overly flashy, these alluring elements become the crowning touch of the overall look. For this shoot, instead of forcing exaggerated poses, I aimed to faithfully recreate her canon state—casual, effortless, yet radiating personal charm at every moment. Seeing the final edits with the rich layering of the skirt hem and cuffs, as well as the intricate wig and ear accessory details, makes all the meticulous preparation feel completely worth it.
