Bringing Laffey's Bunny Castle Lord look to life this time involved substantial preparation, from location scouting to wardrobe fitting. To authentically recreate that Japanese-style languid and slightly mischievous atmosphere, we specifically selected this traditional room lined with tatami mats. The plush capelet and the fluffy pom-poms on the sleeves possessed wonderful tactile quality in person—incredibly soft to the touch—though keeping them fluffy throughout the shoot required continuous smoothing by hand. The rabbit-ear headband on my head was a major focus; once put on, I not only had to monitor its angle constantly, but also ensure it wouldn't tilt during large movements. Numerous hidden bobby pins were added for reinforcement, leaving my head feeling quite heavy by the end of the day.

On the makeup side, to capture Laffey's signature dreamy, slightly dazed yet refined gaze, I selected reddish-pink eyeshadow to deepen the outer corners of my eyes, complemented by red contact lenses. For the lips, I chose a higher-saturation red while keeping the base makeup clean, fair, and translucent. The wig featured long, silver-white wavy hair. To prevent the roots from falling flat, we backcombed the base before the shoot, curling the locks section by section with a flat iron so the strands framing my face held a natural curve in motion. Because the wig was so long, it easily tangled with the fluffy plush trims of the outfit, demanding tremendous patience to maintain.

Our props were thoroughly prepared: that compact Japanese sake carafe and matching sake cup fit Laffey's personality perfectly, allowing us to capture multiple frames of her daydreaming or appearing lightly tipsy. The white bunnies and small yellow plushies scattered throughout the scene weren't just decorative accents—they also gave my hands natural resting points. For example, in the shot reclining across the wooden floorboards, finding the right angle was genuinely exhausting: propping up my upper torso to define the waistline, elongating the leg contours, and managing facial expressions simultaneously while the photographer continuously reminded me to tuck my chin. For the pose pouring sake by the low table, the way my fingers held the cup was adjusted several times to look completely effortless.

Lighting in this traditional Japanese setting was tricky to manage. Light filtering through the shoji paper sliding doors was very soft, but easily risked flattening the subject. Thus, we introduced an additional rim backlight to carve out the subject's silhouette, giving the edges of the plush fur a luminous sheen while using a reflector board to fill in facial shadows. In some photos, cherry blossom branches were placed in the foreground as soft-focus bokeh, enhancing depth and dreaminess. The wood-grain texture of the flooring looked stunning under the light, creating wonderful perspective depth when paired with low-profile reclining poses.

In the shots holding the paper umbrella, because of its rich colors and patterns, the composition was framed to echo the red-sun folding screen in the background. While the high leg-lift pose looks airy and effortless, it required continuous core tension. Wearing shorts paired with plush thigh garters meant striking poses that showed off leg lines while strictly avoiding wardrobe slips. Walking barefoot across the wooden boards felt slightly chilly, but fit the character's carefree nonchalance perfectly.

Although the entire shoot was exhausting, seeing the final images weave together adorable softness and subtle allure made all the preparations worthwhile. Laffey's half-asleep, half-awake cuteness is difficult to capture purely in words, and I truly hope this photoshoot conveys that exact atmosphere to everyone.
