【Azur Lane Laffey cosplay】Heading to the Oath: Setting Off with a Floral Bouquet - Image 1

Getting straight to the point, today marks the kickoff of the Shanghai Azur Lane only event, and I brought out Laffey's Oath wedding dress styling for the occasion. I woke up early this morning to start on hair and makeup; wanting to capture Laffey's signature blend of dazed innocence and exquisite cuteness during her Oath moment, I paid special attention to the eye makeup—defining each eyelash cleanly and choosing a dewy peach lip color to brighten my complexion and match the translucent aesthetic of 2D characters.

This Laffey Oath outfit is packed with fine details. First is the silver-white wig styled with soft, airy bangs; to honor her design, I added blue velvet blossoms and pearl hair clips beside the wig as visual accents, echoing the cool-toned palette of the pure white veil. Selecting the veil material took careful thought: I opted for a lightweight yet gracefully draping semi-translucent white tulle that rests naturally over both shoulders. Though sitting in a car can ruffle it slightly, it truly delivers a ceremonial touch. The white lace trim along the neckline paired with the deep-purple velvet bow tie provides the only rich, deep splash of color in the entire look, harmonizing with her canon uniform accents.

For props, I prepared a handcrafted blue-and-white bouquet featuring pale lilac roses, white camellias, and tiny blue blossoms, complementing the hair ornaments flawlessly. Given the cramped car interior, taking this selfie meant balancing the bouquet in one hand while steadying my phone to catch the light. The scenery racing past the window blended with the cozy cabin ambiance, giving a genuine sense of being en route to a grand rendezvous.

As someone who frequently attends offline events, I believe cosplaying is never merely about taking photos, but a concrete expression of one's understanding of the character. Laffey's personality lore in Azur Lane is outwardly languid yet deeply dependable inside; thus, while preserving the grandeur of the Oath gown, I kept my expression naturally relaxed to avoid stiff posing, staying true to Laffey's authentic everyday vibe in Casual cosplay.

Riding to the Shanghai venue dressed in full gear brought plenty of excitement. Even though the oversized bunny ears and bouquet brushed against the car interior during the commute and restricted movement a bit, thinking of meeting fellow Azur Lane fans and cosplayers made every minor inconvenience completely negligible. Shanghai's weather cooperated wonderfully today—ideal for outdoor photos and browsing the Anime convention. Daylight filtering through the window gave my in-car selfie radiant skin texture.

En route, I brainstormed several photography styles suited for Laffey, such as finding themed set corners in the hall or discussing poses and emotional expressions with our commissioned photographer. Having cosplayed numerous Azur Lane characters, I always believe each has a unique aura; slipping into this Oath gown naturally transforms one's overall presence.

Time spent on the road is always filled with anticipation for the upcoming event—a charm unique to conventions. Rather than forcing rigid poses, I sat naturally, letting the camera freeze this authentic moment of journeying to our oath. I hope to meet many fellow fans at the venue today and relish the joy of this offline gathering together.

Before arriving safely, I'll use this car selfie to capture the mood of the moment—touching up makeup and wardrobe details, ready to embrace today's bustling venue.
