[Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay] Reporting to the Convention as This Blue-and-White Kitty

Putting on this Azur Lane Cheshire Cosplay costume and stepping into the center of the convention hall, I truly felt the wonderful sensation of a character stepping out from the screen into reality. At this expo, I decided to present myself in the way that best captures Cheshire. Preparing this Blue and white lace dress took a lot of thought—especially the oversized bow on the head, crafted from spliced white lace, tulle, and deep navy blue fabric with delicate golden embroidery, and accented by the golden bell on the side. To secure the bell firmly without hindering movement, I tested numerous clips, and the final effect presented on site today didn't disappoint after all the adjustments.

The upper half of the costume is a white dress style, with intricate lace trimming along the neckline and sleeve cuffs. The black bow tie and dark blue shawl ruffles create distinct visual layering, while a wide navy corset cinches the waist, outlined by two golden horizontal stripes, with dangling golden cross chains serving as one of the visual pillars of the ensemble. Wearing this dress requires propping up the skirt layer by layer: the bottom is a fluffy white petticoat topped with alternating navy-and-white ruffled flounces. Although the garment structure is quite intricate, walking around the convention didn't feel overly clumsy; in fact, the expansive skirt gave a comforting, secure embrace.

Regarding makeup and wig styling, part of Cheshire's distinct recognition comes from her hair and eye colors. The wig features cyan-blue highlighted ends against a purplish-grey base with cool grey undertones, paired with bright light-blue contact lenses, eyeshadow, and blush to capture the character's gentle yet curious expression under convention lighting. Once the styling was complete, we found an area with a white plush mat on site for shooting, which complemented the Blue and white lace dress to make it look even cleaner and brighter in these Convention photos.

Huge thanks to photographer Yidu Mianyang for collaborating on this shoot. With massive convention crowds, the background pedestrians and clutter were actually much busier than they appear on camera; capturing such pristine frames truly required superb framing and timely snapshot reflexes. During shooting, I tried raising both hands like cat paws and posing heart gestures. The poses in the final photos were struck quickly in short windows, because with onlookers passing by constantly, capturing natural, relaxed moments amidst the crowd was no easy feat.

Honestly, standing in full gear across the venue for several hours is definitely a physically demanding task. However, during breaks, I met many fellow fans who stopped to say hello after recognizing the look at first glance. This wonderful sense of connection forged through Cosplay photo sharing and convention events is precisely what makes offline gatherings so fascinating. Wearing this outfit requires maintaining good posture, as the corset and shoulder ruffles have structured lines that naturally prompt you to straighten your back. Despite being enveloped in layered skirts and accessories, stepping into character made me feel wonderfully lighthearted.

In post-processing, I tried to preserve the authentic lighting texture from the venue without over-smoothing the skin, as the photographer's lighting angles were excellent—the backlight and sidelight brought out sharp dimensionality across the golden elements and skirt pleats. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable shooting experience. Being able to document this character styling in a real offline setting is deeply rewarding in itself. Every time I work with such detail-heavy cosplay attire, although the preparation cycle is long, seeing the final Convention photos makes all the intricate stitching and accessory adjustments feel completely worthwhile.
