Albion from Azur Lane has always given me a gentle and reliable feeling, so interpreting her in a cheongsam look this time was both challenging and interesting. The theme set before the shoot was a combination of Neo-Chinese style and cold, ethereal elegance. To fit Albion's elven characteristics and the temperament of the Azur Lane character itself, we put a lot of thought into the costume design. The white lace fabric and tulle material retain some tailoring elements of the cheongsam while imparting a lighter, more translucent feel. Paired with her iconic silvery-purple long hair and elf ears, it finally maxes out the classic atmosphere belonging to the character and this specific style visually.

The scene arrangement on the day of the shoot was highly sophisticated. The wooden carved lattices and round moon gate in the background, combined with scattered plum blossom branches and draping white tulle curtains, created an antique and elegant ambience throughout the space. To reflect Albion's personality in the game—one who protects the port yet possesses a bit of playfulness—the photographer guided me through some dynamic snapshots, such as standing on one leg, pulling at the tulle veil, and the exact moment of her long hair fluttering in the wind. The set featuring white high heels raised the visual center of gravity, making the posture look more upright and elegant, whereas sitting barefoot on the white plush carpet brought out a more lazy and casual vibe, perfectly corresponding to the relaxed state she might have in her daily life.

The lace texture on the dress and the garter belt design required strict control over the angle of light to bring out the fabric's own dimensionality and layering, which was perfectly achieved by the soft, diffused studio lighting. For the makeup, I opted for a clean, "no-makeup" makeup look, focusing on the gradient colors of the eyeshadow and how the eyeliner accentuated my eye shape to make them look more spirited. Combined with the styling of the wig, it created an effect as if a 2D character had walked into reality. In post-processing, I deliberately retained the true texture of the skin to prevent it from looking overly artificial. To capture the texture of the garter belts and lightweight tulle, special attention had to be paid to using backlight and rim lighting during the studio setup so that the threads would produce a translucent shimmer. After experimenting with several angles alongside the photographer, we finally locked in this composition plan.

This attempt to integrate a 2D character into a traditional Chinese architectural background is essentially a re-creation of the character's traits. Chinese elements emphasize negative space and artistic conception, which beautifully strikes a wonderful chemical balance with Albion's gentle, silent, yet intelligent personality. This cosplay photography session took about three hours. From styling adjustments and lighting tests to swift switches between various angles, the photography team provided an exceptional level of cooperation. Overall, it was a highly smooth and productive shoot. Seeing the final results, I truly feel that all the previous efforts of repeatedly adjusting the hair flow of the wig and the placement of the lace were completely worth it.
