[Venti cosplay] This Gap-Appeal Maid Outfit Looks Truly Amazing

Failing to export the GIF was genuinely frustrating, but fortunately, getting the raw photos lifted my mood right back up. I took some time to shoot a maid outfit version of Venti. I spent a long time thinking before finalizing the makeup, because while his original style is breezy and ethereal, putting on this black-and-white maid outfit creates a striking, completely distinct contrast. The costume chosen was a classic design, featuring intricate lace along the neckline and ruffles on the cuffs, with the red dot in the middle of the bow tie looking especially eye-catching. To match the texture of the outfit, I picked a black-and-blue two-tone wig styled into twin braids. This length really tests hair styling; just spraying hairspray on both braids and heat-curling them took over an hour to make sure they held their curve. The contacts were green colored contact lenses with a gradient design, making my eyes look much larger when worn. I put a lot of effort into the eye makeup—layering multiple pairs of false eyelashes and expanding the outer lower eyelid with dark eyeshadow so my gaze would look sharply focused during selfies. The plush doll was prepared in advance and paired nicely on camera; holding it added richness to the composition so the frame wouldn't feel too empty. For the shoot, I set up a corner at home with purple-toned curtains in the background and a warm yellow desk lamp on the right, intertwining cool and warm lighting to create a hazy, intimate indoor atmosphere. However, this mixed lighting was quite tricky to master; I constantly had to adjust back and forth between the reflector and fill light to prevent facial shadows from becoming too deep or the catchlights in my pupils from being too small. After rounds of adjustments, I took dozens of photos before selecting a few satisfying shots. I originally planned to make and share an animated GIF, but unfortunately the software kept throwing errors during export, so after struggling for ages without success, I had to give up on that idea. Fortunately, the retouched photos had even better texture—static images allow for clearer views of the makeup and costume details while capturing subtle micro-expressions. Although this outfit is gorgeous, it's actually not very convenient to wear; the skirt hem is quite short, restricting movement when sitting down, sometimes requiring considerable effort to pull off a pose that looks effortless. All in all, it was a very fulfilling day of shooting. Looking at those green eyes and the neat braided hair after retouching, all the hard work felt totally worth it.
