[Yae Miko cosplay] Pink Fox Ears, Snow-White Attire - Image 1

This photo set is one of my more satisfying recent attempts. For the shoot, I deliberately chose a high-angle downward shot, leaning across the edge of the bed with the perspective pressing down from above, which beautifully captured the subject's gaze and the intricate details of the hair. Given the lore of Yae Miko in Genshin Impact, I poured significant effort into the hair and makeup styling.

Styling the wig with Long pink hair was critical. This hairstyle is divided into two layers: the crown required careful outer flared and inner curled details, while the bangs needed dimensional breathing room. Spending nearly an hour in front of the mirror just adjusting the roots and the flow of hair strands was essential to maximize volume at the crown, shaping a silhouette resembling fox ears alongside the styling flanking both ears to embrace that Fox archetype.

For the eyes, I selected light-colored, large-diameter circle lenses, elongating the eyeliner downward as much as possible, paired with a faint reddish tint blended at the outer corners of the eyes to lend the gaze a playful, teasing laziness. Blush was swept beneath the eyes and across the cheekbones, while a glossy lip glaze added a touch of dewy moisture.

Regarding the costume, it was styled with a white off-shoulder dress and sheer ruffled cuffs. This translucent fabric necessitated a strapless bra while gorgeously accentuating the clavicle lines. I refined my hand placement several times during the shoot, having my fingers lightly graze my lips—a gesture that easily captures a captivating, alluring gaze.

Due to the tight framing and close lens proximity, softboxes were used most of the time to render the skin luminous, translucent, and warm. The overall color palette leaned toward soft pink and white, primarily to keep the background clean and make the subject pop.

This styling was fairly comfortable indoors with the air conditioning on, though the sleeves were slightly unwieldy. In subsequent shots, I also tested standing poses, which made it much easier to showcase the waistline and the drape of the skirt.

The joy of doing cosplay lies not merely in wearing the costume, but in embodying the character's demeanor and gestures. The communication during this shoot was effortless, and the final results fully met expectations. Huge thanks to the collaborating photographer for capturing these subtle details and bringing the spirit of this Genshin Impact Yae Miko cosplay look to life.
