Shooting this on-site set of Murata Himeko's Arctic Krieger, the biggest challenge actually came from the life-sized greatsword prop. The weight of this weapon is substantial; holding it with one hand while striking an effortless, composed posture not only tests arm strength, but also heavily demands core and back stability. To embody the character's composed, battle-hardened military presence, I repeatedly fine-tuned my points of leverage before the shoot, ensuring my posture stayed straight and upright and my gaze remained sharp, even while supporting such a heavy prop.

The costume itself is packed with rich details. The blue-and-black tailored coat has a crisp, structured silhouette, with the inner white shirt and cross-strap detailing across the chest clearly layered. The lower half features high-waisted black shorts paired with leather leg harnesses and metallic knee guards, which took considerable time to adjust for the most form-fitting look. The chunky-heeled black long boots required extra care to stand steadily on the slippery artificial snow; I had to pay constant attention to my foot stance and center of gravity to deliver a stable, solid presence in front of the lens. The fiery red high ponytail stood out vividly against the cool-toned environment, though it needed continuous grooming to keep the wig from looking disheveled when swinging the greatsword around.

The shooting took place in an expansive indoor pavilion, with the set lavishly covered in artificial snow. To evoke the freezing atmosphere of Arctic Krieger, the lighting technician made heavy use of cool-toned light sources. When snow fell onto the blue-lacquered blade, it created a genuine sense of cold, mechanical aesthetics. In this kind of setting, controlling facial expressions was critical. I couldn't afford to show exhaustion from the heavy prop or the chilly setting; I had to preserve Himeko's confident, subtly relaxed aura throughout. The on-site photographer offered many great suggestions for composition, especially utilizing reflections on ground puddles to add visual depth to the frame.

In post-processing, the color grading enhanced the contrast between blue and black, giving the entire palette a much sterner, cooler tone. In the final photos, the trailing paths of falling artificial snow and the cold sheen on the blade echoed each other beautifully. The full-body front shot in the second photo framed the costume proportions and weapon's sheer bulk perfectly—bold, commanding, and full of strength. The entire shoot was a double test of stamina and focus, but seeing the finished photos portraying a Valkyrie standing by in the freezing storm, all the exhaustion felt completely worthwhile.
