[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Hymn of the Flowery Glade: The Pink Figure at the Guangzhou Anime Convention

Snapped inside the car while resting between convention sessions, this set features Elysia's Hymn of the Flowery Glade outfit from Honkai Impact 3rd, channeling a dreamy palette of white and violet. This attire is undeniably demanding to pull off. A Pink wig easily makes skin look dull or darkened, especially under the dimmer interior car lighting. To recreate that authentic two-dimensional anime presence, I applied a foundation base one shade lighter than my usual tone, adding generous highlighters across the forehead and cheekbones to bring out a radiant, porcelain glow.

The Pink wig required extensive prep beforehand; fine micro-glitter was blended into the fibers, catching the light with subtle sparkles under direct illumination. However, this shade can easily emphasize yellow undertones in the skin, and the tips knot quickly, requiring thorough detangling before heading out. For the eyes, oversized violet-blue contact lenses were paired with pink-toned eyeshadow, emphasized lower lashes, and well-defined aegyo sal to dramatically expand eye proportions. Blush was applied high on the center of the cheeks to soften facial contours and project youthful sweetness.

The Hymn of the Flowery Glade gown features rich details: an oversized purple satin collar bow accented with a star pendant, tailored bust seams, and waist ruffles. The fabric has substantial weight and structure, which allows it to maintain its sculpted silhouette. However, that also makes it quite heavy to wear, and cinching the back laces requires an assistant. The multi-tiered skirt felt slightly cramped inside the vehicle, restricting movement, but it framed still poses beautifully.

Originally, attending the Firefly ACG Expo in Guangzhou was just about browsing with friends while bringing this cosplay along. Once on-site, I found far more fellow fans than anticipated; many Honkai Impact 3rd players recognized Elysia, came over for photos, and chatted about character lore and emotional story beats, which gave me immense immersion. Walking the hall, the outfit turned plenty of heads.

Real-world lighting drastically affects a Pink wig. While it looks vibrant under indoor expo lights, natural outdoor or car light can leave skin looking flat and sallow if base makeup and fill light aren't dialed in. I kept plenty of pressed powder on hand for frequent touch-ups, as dullness and shine are the biggest hurdles when wearing pink palettes.

The hardest part of this costume is achieving bridal-style airy lightness. Although multi-layered, the silhouette relies on rigid lace and jacquard weaves to hold its shape. To prevent the dress from collapsing on camera, I wore stiff corsetry underneath, which was rather constricting. Spending the day at the Guangzhou Anime Convention was physically exhausting with the heavy outfit, but enduring it was essential to honor the intricate design.

Reviewing the selects, these vehicle self-portraits possess a quiet, distinct charm compared to bright outdoor shoots, creating a serene mood away from the bustling floor. It was captured during a lull at the expo—air conditioning running, hair and makeup staying perfectly set—making it the ideal moment to press the shutter.
