For this Golden Spatula 5th Anniversary offline event, I prepared this Chibi Gwen styling. From the moment I received the costume, I was contemplating how to faithfully recreate that delicate yet quirky, whimsical essence from the original art. After receiving the blue gradient wig, I styled it twice; the little ahoge on top and the side braids required plenty of hairspray and styling mist to ensure they wouldn't collapse even during broad movements on stage. For makeup, the eyeshadow featured blue-purple tones to echo the hair, while the diamond tattoo sticker on my neck was custom-made; I repositioned it several times when applying to ensure it remained clearly visible from all shooting angles.

The costume is genuinely packed with details. The black criss-cross lacing and lace trim on the bodice needed to lay flat and neat, otherwise it would look bulky on camera. The golden triangular emblem at the waist and the layered blue-and-gold sashes are the visual centerpiece of the ensemble; to keep them upright without sagging, stiff interfacing was added inside. The jacquard patterns and gold-trimmed diamond motifs on the skirt hem gleamed softly under the booth lights, crafted from a subtly shimmering satin that pops effortlessly on camera. What I loved most was actually the asymmetrical hosiery design: one leg featuring grey-black Argyle stockings and the other sporting grey-black vertical stripes, paired with white platform high heels, which visually elongated body proportions remarkably. That said, standing in these platform heels all day was definitely an intense test of endurance for the soles of my feet!

Arriving at the venue, the giant yellow finger prop prepared by the prop crew and the round-eyed white mascot beside it were absolute scene-stealers. To interact with these props, I explored various poses: resting one hand against the yellow finger while tilting my head up, throwing a peace sign beside the white mascot, or even lifting the skirt hem for a jumping motion—all intended to make the layers of the skirt and the details of the Argyle stockings stand out more clearly in the photos. Because it was an anniversary celebration for Golden Spatula, many summoners gathered on site and were incredibly welcoming; though walking across the stage in platform heels demanded extra care, hearing everyone cheer for Gwen gave me an immense sense of accomplishment.

The lighting for this shoot was fairly complex, as the warm booth lights cast varied reflections across the satin dress. To prevent the photos from looking overexposed, the photographer and I experimented extensively with compositions and angles, striving to use side light and backlighting to trace the garment's contours. As someone who cosplays frequently, when tackling such ornate characters, the biggest headache is always the tedious accessories and marathon hair and makeup sessions; yet as long as the final result captures that blend of cuteness and spirited resilience, every ounce of effort is worthwhile. The entire shoot went very smoothly overall, largely thanks to the on-site photographer's patient direction, allowing me to capture the character's demeanor with pinpoint precision.
