Choosing an unfinished concrete building as our shoot location this time was entirely driven by the raw, natural texture of exposed cement walls and rugged floors, which align flawlessly with the industrial wasteland aesthetic of the Zaun undercity in Arcane. To craft that oppressive yet hallucinatory ambiance, the lighting technician introduced vibrant magenta and violet-red rim lights over a deep blue base, using stark contrasts of light and shadow to cast razor-sharp silhouettes across the concrete walls.
For the wig, I selected a highly saturated vivid blue, styled into signature thick braids and accessorized with metallic hair cuffs to inject a mechanical edge. The costume is crafted from pieced leather textures with crisscrossing chest straps, paired below with purple-and-black striped distressed pants. The hot-pink shoelaces on the combat boots served as a striking highlight, color-coordinating seamlessly with the pink contact lenses. The eye makeup was applied heavily, blending expansive black eyeshadow with a deep, moody lip shade to evoke a decadent, perilous aura. The cloud-shaped blue tattoos along the body and the white adhesive bandages on the knees and abdomen were fragmented details, yet they breathed rich dimension into the character's persona.
That massive 'Fishbones' rocket launcher prop was the central challenge of the shoot. It carried substantial weight, demanding intense core engagement to maintain balance during poses. Whether heaving it over my shoulder, propping it against the floor, or aiming the handgun single-handedly, finding that slightly neurotic ease blended with raw menace was essential. The photographer utilized a wide-angle lens paired with low-angle upward framing, delivering maximum visual impact for both the character and the colossal mechanical weaponry.
The environment was quite austere that day, surrounded by unfinished structural pillars and hollow window frames, yet that raw simplicity only fueled our creative drive. Photographer @lemonfengya was brilliant at capturing kinetic motion: whether whipping braids through the air or catching mid-run leaps, the shutter barely paused. Leveraging puddles of standing water on the floor, we crouched low to capture reflections of the character and weapons, where ripples across the water surface added rich visual depth. This Jinx portrayal was more than replicating outward looks; it was about unleashing her brazen, dangerous, and intoxicating vitality. Participating in the League of Legends Creator Festival and the Hero Return Co-Creation Showcase was our way of paying homage to our beloved main champion, bringing the wasteland battlefield from our imaginations into vivid reality.
