From initial finalizing to actual fitting, this cosplay outfit underwent repeated detail adjustments before finally presenting a satisfying result in front of the camera.

Recreating the exact color palette and texture certainly required the most effort. Short blue hair paired with her signature high-drawn small buns gives off a playful look balanced by a quiet strength. On the outfit, the deep-purple ruffled off-shoulder design and white-and-deep-purple crisscrossed skirt are accented with golden lines, creating rich layers. The starburst badge on the chest serves as the visual centerpiece of the upper body; to achieve a metallic texture without looking stiff, the prop master and I experimented with various painting techniques.

The geometric diamond patterns on the arms and thighs were soul details of this makeup and styling. To ensure they adhered smoothly to the skin without peeling, we used specialized skin decals and body paint pigments. Although I constantly worried that sweat would smudge them on the day of the shoot, the final result was well worth the trouble. The translucent purple gloves were also meticulously crafted, harmonizing seamlessly with the overall cool blue-and-purple ambiance.

Speaking of props, the giant blue magical scissors—her weapon—consumed a huge portion of energy during both posing and post-processing. Beyond being a physical prop, it needed to radiate swirling magical light arcs and ethereal particle effects within the frame. During shooting, the photographer intentionally used blue ambient lighting combined with slow shutter speeds or post-compositing to create a dynamic atmosphere as if unleashing skills. Honestly, the hardest part of shooting fantasy-themed cosplay is imbuing static shots with fluid motion.

The lighting design is also worth noting. The main light source and ambient lighting were strictly controlled within a cool blue spectrum, maintaining high unity with Gwen's primary palette. To highlight her silhouette, we preserved deep blacks in the shadow regions, allowing specular highlights on props and garments to stand out sharply. Those faint blue light particles scattered across the image created a feeling of traversing deep mystical realms.

As a League of Legends player, I am intimately familiar with Gwen's skill kit and mechanics. This cosplay was not merely about surface-level reproduction; I hoped to convey through expressions and poses her nimble agility in battle paired with an underlying lethality. Although maneuvering with such a massive prop tested my physical endurance, taking extra sequence takes for optimal visual impact was second nature.

When attempting to recreate a character—especially one like Gwen who possesses both an intricate exterior and a deep lore—we naturally place greater emphasis on her deportment across splash art and CGs. I chose a measured and controlled approach to performance, rather than rigidly copying a single artwork, drawing instead from my understanding of her kit to project a blend of agile charm and sharp coolness. Photos captured this way tell a compelling story through gaze and posture alone, even without heavy CGI enhancements.

In post-production, alongside standard facial and figure retouching, we spent significant time refining special-effects lighting. For instance, regarding those light-blue luminous arcs encircling the frame, we adjusted layer styles and opacity multiple times so they looked like naturally dissipating magical energy rather than stiffly pasted geometric overlays. Sometimes, subtle nuances between sharp and soft lighting can elevate the tone of an entire piece dramatically.

Those who love default skin Gwen mostly adore the collision between her elaborate dress and innocent temperament. Returning to the dressing room after taking off this costume, looking at setting spray residue on the wig pieces and wrinkled skirt folds, I felt deeply moved.
