This League of Legends Gwen cosplay photoshoot set from our real-scene studio shooting in April left me highly satisfied with the restoration level of the scenery design and light-and-shadow setup. This character inherently carries a strong fairy-tale flair, so during the studio shoot, we placed our focus on intensifying that lightweight, dreamlike atmosphere.
Regarding the treatment of the wig, I selected this ash-blue twin-bun styling. Coordinated with the white mini hat featuring a five-pointed star on top and the red-and-blue star hairpins on the side, the overall look is filled with ample playfulness. The costume features incredibly rich layers; the upper body uses an off-the-shoulder and midriff-baring design, where the light blue inner piece is paired with stacked pink-and-white ruffles. The red geometric ornament and bow tie on the chest reinforce the visual center of gravity, matching the white multi-layered short skirt with golden piping on the lower body, as well as the dangling colored geometric blocks and a bright red heart-shaped pendant, making the coloration exceptionally vibrant.
Especially in Figure 3, because the character wears over-knee stockings with a star pattern on one side, we deliberately designed a jumping movement to highlight the lineament of the legs and the beauty of asymmetry. The posture of raising one leg is both adorable and imbued with a unique, playful vitality. During the shooting process, we needed to frequently adjust the range of motion to ensure the trailing trajectory of the tulle drapery and the extension of the limbs cooperated perfectly, allowing the dynamic movement of the entire frame to reach its best balance.
The real-scene studio was decorated with massive expanses of pink, purple, and pale blue tulle drapery. The floor was padded with a white cotton-textured prop resembling clouds, and musical notes and stars hung suspended in mid-air—these elements coordinated beautifully with the character's overall style. During the shoot, a large aperture was used to blur portions of the foreground and background, making the lighting texture extremely soft. The overall color tone leaned toward high-brightness macaron color palettes without deliberately employing strong-contrast light and shadow. Post-processing primarily micro-adjusted the tones of high-contrast highlights and shadows on the basis of maintaining accurate white balance, making the skin tone look more translucent, completing a beautiful showcase of dreamy makeup and styling.
Switching between different postures also tested facial expression management; standing required showcasing her sweet agility, while a cheek-propping sitting pose delivered a touch of gentleness, and jumping demanded completely releasing the character's spirit. The efficiency of cooperation with the photographer this time was very high—walking, turning, and waving arms on set, every action could be snapped into the desired moment quite accurately. This costume isn't actually a styling that easily yields brilliant effects because it contains so many elements; the slightest carelessness would make it look cluttered, so we had to be exceptionally patient when organizing the brooches and straps. Fortunately, these minor details are clearly accounted for in the final cuts.
This real-scene studio shooting experience was highly delightful. Being able to express the character's fairy-tale charm and slight tsundere traits through lens staging and scene coordination brought a massive sense of achievement. Looking at these photos during post-processing, details from the strands of hair to the pleats of the skirt hem are beautifully preserved. I hope the visual sensation presented by this photoshoot does justice to every meticulously arranged lighting effect and prop on set.
