[Castorice Cosplay] Strolling Through the Flower Bed of Resting Place in Honkai: Star Rail

This shoot for Honkai: Star Rail Castorice cosplay was set among the flower beds of a resting place filled with classical atmosphere. For the styling, I chose long hair cascading in a gradient from pale silver to soft purple, paired with a black crown of thorns decorated with white flowers, and tied with a deep purple ribbon bow on the side to visually enhance the character's sense of mystery and elegance.

As for the costume, the main body is a white ruffle tube dress, with black-and-purple ribbons at the waist and a corset structure defining the lines. The most delightful surprise is the pair of semi-transparent purple-and-black mesh sleeves printed with butterfly patterns. Combined with the white gauze bows at the wrists, they not only add visual layering but also lend a flowing grace to the movements. A black lace choker with a purple butterfly pendant is worn around the neck, creating a sharp contrast with the white undergarment. The lower half features a multi-color spliced skirt design of purple, black, and white, which visually elongates the body proportions while paired with white pantyhose. The overall color palette blends cool serenity with softness.

The shooting environment utilized classic white Roman columns and draped white gauze curtains, paired with several European-style vases filled with blooming white lilies, red roses, blue irises, and other flowers to build a ritualistic atmosphere similar to a sanctuary. The lighting setup leaned toward cool tones, with a large area of blue-purple atmospheric light cast onto the subject and background, perfectly matching the striking fluorescent pinkish-purple glow on the scythe prop. This scythe prop has a substantial weight; its black-and-white geometric hollow body paired with a glowing pinkish-purple blade meant its luminescent effect significantly influenced the ambient lighting during the shoot. To present this glowing texture along with the details of the green butterfly prop in my hand, the photographer and I coordinated extensively on the initial lighting setup.

In terms of makeup, to closely match the character's cool, aloof, yet soft traits, I chose light-colored lenses paired with a heavier blend of red eyeshadow to enhance the outline of the lower eyelids. This makeup gives the eyes a deeper look, which, combined with soft pink lip makeup, appears very translucent under the cool blue-purple lighting. Throughout the shooting process, whether expressing the softness of holding a bouquet or the tension of shouldering the massive scythe, the two sides of the character were showcased through expressions in different scenes and physical poses. From costume pattern-making and wig styling to post-production color grading, the entire set strives to maintain a clean, translucent, and dreamlike atmosphere while presenting a vast worldview. Interweaving blue and purple tones captures the serene mood unique to this character, allowing every shutter click to freeze the distinctive charm reflected in those details.
