Today I'm sharing the shooting record of this Shimoe Koharu pure white oath bride. The costume as a whole is a combination of white and dark blue, accented with pink. Although it looks very light visually, it is actually very layered when worn, especially with various straps and cutout designs. It took a long time to adjust positions before shooting. To fit the original design's body shape, the waist was cinched quite tightly. Before shooting, I also intentionally controlled my condition to ensure the best effect could be presented in front of the lens.
The pink halo on top of the head is custom-made and needs to be fixed with an invisible headband. To avoid excessive reflection during lighting, the photographer adjusted the camera position and light source angle. The wig chose a pink-orange color, with the twin tails elevated, paired with a pink-purple eyeshadow and same-colored contact lenses, maintaining a translucent feel even under strong light. The blue-black wing accessories on both sides are light, but every time I turn around, I need to pay attention not to hook the sleeve covers. The split trumpet sleeve covers on the arms plus the layered lace ruffles not only increase the visual volume feel, but also require maintaining a natural drape when posing to avoid looking too heavy.
One of the core highlights of the shooting day is this white stockings pairing. To modify the leg lines, I chose tights with a relatively thick texture and micro-sheer effect, paired with thigh sock rings, which can both lengthen proportions and echo the white high heels. The first set is a standing pose, holding a bouquet with one hand and supporting a picture frame with the other; this shot is mainly to showcase the extension feel of the long skirt hem. After standing for a long time, we moved to the sofa to shoot sitting poses. Taking off the high heels and placing them by the feet, the crossed-leg sitting posture can make the white stockings' texture more three-dimensional under the back-side light, while also bringing out a lazy and casual atmosphere. To prevent white from overexposing in the frame, the photographer kept manually controlling the highlights to retain the texture details of the costume.
The background arrangement is a European-style retro scene, like white Roman pillars, carved picture frames, and a distant angel statue. To match this environment, I chose a bouquet of champagne and white mixed roses and added some small props like pink small plush toys in the scene. The biggest challenge during shooting was how to spread the huge white long skirt hem into a nice fan shape while sitting, while ensuring that the leg lines are not blocked, which tests the core strength of the waist and abdomen; a slight relaxation would make it look unenergetic.
The overall shooting process was very smooth. Midway, due to the white stockings touching the floor and getting stained with dust, subsequent brightening and de-staining treatments were done slightly in post-processing. This set of pictures took most of the day, with repeated consideration of everything from makeup to light and shadow, and the final presented texture is also very solid. Whether it's the romance and holiness of the bride, or the character's own slightly playful temperament, I hope to completely convey it through this set of photos.
